Sleeperz are cool. This property is the closest hotel to Cardiff Central. Like its counterpart in Newcastle, it’s only a few steps away from the station, as well as fairly close enough to the nightlife district—in this case the nearby St Mary St-- without being adversely affected by the noise and nuisance that comes with the latter. In fact, drunken punters can safely stumble back to their comfy beds here without the hassle of getting into a cab or bus. Also similar to its sister hotel in Newcastle, it’s reasonably priced and smartly designed with efficient compact rooms, nice windows, and overall an ideal retreat to hang your hat at night. Not unexpectedly, it delivers on the basics: cleanliness throughout, good room temperature controls, noise levels under control, reasonably comfortable bed, good toilet pressure and water temperature controls in the bathroom, sufficient supply of towels, nice lighting options in the room, enough electrical outlets to charge your piles of modern junk, workable wi-fi, competent housekeeping, and friendly and helpful staff. English breakfast is also served in a pleasant, airy space. There’s almost nothing to dislike here.

Stayed for two nights due to working in Cardiff.
Pros:
Literally right next to the train station
Minutes from bars and restaurants
Compact, clean and basic room
Comfortable bed
Extra pillows
Clean towels
Didn’t hear the trains despite being right next to the lines
Staff were incredibly friendly, probably the best team in any budget hotel I’ve stayed in
Cons:
Air con didn’t work and the hotel is so warm it was awful to sleep at night
No offer of breakfast in the hotel on check in and for £9.99, Spoons directly opposite was better
Phone was plugged into itself and was impossibly to plug into the wall
Fire alarm went off twice both nights between 11pm and 1am.
Minimal storage in the room
No iron in the room
No plug sockets next to the bed
All in all it’s what you get with a budget hotel but small tweaks would have made all the difference

As soon as you arrive you are greeted with a friendly smile and made to feel welcome. The hotel is just what you need for a centrally located place to kip in the centre of Cardiff. Ideally located right night to the train station and at a price that doesn’t take its toll on your pocket, this hotel offers you a basic but not shabby option to staying out and enjoying a kid free night away. The rooms are small but well equipped and it’s surprisingly quiet for being right in the hustle bustle of Cardiff central.
We had the breakfast which was ok but I’d prefer to try somewhere different next time. It was nice to ‘people watch’ though from the restaurant as you sip on a cuppa and munch on your breakfast.

I experienced an exceptional stay at this wonderful hotel which provided me with some of the finest customer service and hospitality that I have ever experienced at a hotel.
The whole team at Sleeperz Cardiff strived and achieved in making my stay world-class, absolutely terrific friendly, efficient and professional service that was of the highest order.
The superior double room I resided in was marvellous, a modern spacious room which was well decorated and presented, spotlessly clean and contained all that is required for a comfortable stay including a large television, excellent speedy Wi-Fi, in room iron and board, pleasant place to sit and work and then there is the magnificent bed with dreamy mattress, lovely duvet and sumptuous pillows which aided a great nice sleep.
The modern en suite bathroom was also immaculately clean present with a large shower cubicle with double headed powerful shower, fluffy towels and mist free mirror which completed the experience.
The main reason that I choose the Sleeperz was its location, which is adjacent to the cities main railway station and (soon to be opened) main bus exchange, yet, the hotel is also very well position on the edge of the main nightlife area within easy walking distance of the main shopping district, in fact, most of the attractions and amenities of the Welsh capital.
The Sleeperz Cardiff offers a wondrous, value for money, well located, place to reside in Cardiff, look no further as you will not be disappointed with the Sleeperz.

Great hotel with absolutely amazing staff. The lady who helped me with check in was absolutely wonderful! Polite, kind, personable, informative, and she had a sense of humor which really helped after a stressful mornings travel!
The room was perfect for the price I paid, centrally located plug sockets that reached the bed, air con was an absolute bonus as Cardiff was extremely hot this day, and to top it all off there was a British 1-2 at the speedway GP.
I really want to thank the lady that checked me on on August 17th (roughly midday) as she really was amazing!! I just can't remember her name!

This hotel was in a perfect location directly next to cardiff central train station
It was a cheap night spur of the moment stay , quick check in friendly.staff. the room was small but ideal clean and the bed was super comfy.
Considering it back on to the train station wr didn't have any disturbance from the railway station or trains which was great we would recommend this hotel for a budget stay in the city
The showers are very slippy but u can request a bath mat from.reception which I'd highly recommend

The staff at the Sleeperz Hotel are brilliant, incredibly friendly and very helpful. The rooms in the hotel are poor or certainly the one we were allocated for the first of our 2 night stay was.
We'd booked for a 6 Nations weekend and paid almost £500 for 2 nights. The tiny double room had a bed stuck up against a wall so we couldn't access both sides of the bed. There was barely any furniture and without any bedside tables so nowhere to put anything.
We complained and we're moved for our second night to a regular sized room with the furniture you'd expect.
The hotel is in a great location 2 minutes from the station, 5 minutes from a huge range of restaurants and bars and less than 10 minutes from the Principlity Stadium. Would we stay again? Not sure as the risks around the rooms would worry us.

A Lovely stay. Every member of staff I encountered was friendly and helpful. I have stayed at far more expensive hotels and never felt as cared for as at the Sleeper Z Cardiff. The room was comfortable, spotlessly clean with everything I needed for a couple of nights. Despite being located by the main railway station and close to the town's nightlife it was very quiet at night.
Breakfast for a budget hotel was perfectly acceptable with the staff going the extra mile and helping my dietary needs. This is a hotel I will definitely return to. Thank you.

Bit of an emergency stay and this was about the only hotel we could find that had a family room available at short notice. Booked it after signing up to the Sleepers Select club but realised when I got home that the 15% discount did not go through so I was charged full price for the room.
Room was ok bit of a musty/damp smell in the bathroom. Air con/heating unit also made a lot of noise and I had to get up in the middle of the night to turn it off. Was also annoying not having carpet underfoot. But the biggest gripe about the stay was the breakfast – the cooked food was INEDIBLE! We got down for breakfast just before 8am so by no means late. Cereals, toast etc ok but the fried had clearly been out since about 6am and was totally over cooked. The bacon was like rubber, sausages burnt and hard as rock, hash browns crispy and burnt. I literally had a mouthful of beans and that was it. We barely ate £9.95 worth of breakfast between the 3 of us!! The staff were more interested in standing round the kitchen chatting and helping themselves to tea/coffee from the machine than actually checking on the food and putting fresh out. It was awful, by far the worse hotel breakfast we have ever encountered and considering the likes of Premier Inn and Travelodge include 2 free kids breakfasts with 1 paying adult, there is much better value at other hotels. We will not be staying here again.
I have contacted the head office but it's been a week and they haven't even bothered replying!!

Sorry I haven’t needed parking when I stopped there.

Unfortunately the carpark we did over discount with no longer exists. The closest parking to the hotel (2 minute walk) is the Cardiff Central train station who offer 24 hour parking for £12.50.

Yes clean towels in ever room, with shampoo and hand wash also hair dryer, tea and coffee making are in each room, you can also ask for extra extra pillows and iron, you can book breakfast for £10 and room service is available. You can also leave your luggage with them when you check-in and check-out for £1 each bag thats a charity donations.
