If you value your sleep don't stay here. Single glazed window with a curtain that didn't fit property meant I got three hours max sleep as my room was on the front on a busy main road. I had a massive headache in the morning. Breakfast was ok but small portions. Restaurant prices expensive. They also insist on payment upfront.... More

We stayed at the Elgano over the bank holiday weekend. We had room 6 which is on the top floor overlooking the back of the house. The room was very clean, quite small but had all the facilities you would expect. It was especially nice to have towels which were soft and didn't smell of cooking, like most places I... More

The B&B is upstairs of an Italian restaurant. The room was not so clean with old sheets, the tea set was dirty. The bath was essential without hair dryer. The light and the fan in the bath start automatically with a sensor. The smell of restaurant kitchen goes in the room through the bath.

Stayed here with my son in law when visiting Cardiff for sons stags do. Glad we did 50 quid each quiet room in Coach house , delicious pizza which we ate sitting in garden because the restaurant is very popular and was fully booked, adequate breakfast, and very friendly staff. Thank you.

We arrived Sunday lunch time, staff were lovely and friendly, told us how to get to back of hotel for free parking, checked in fine and headed off for the SSE SWALEC which is a 5 minute walk away. Our room was small but fine for our one night stay, room was warm but slept very well! Had a cooked... More

Stayed at the Elgano for a night earlier this month. I stayed in the coach house which is separate from the main hotel. Very clean, but felt slightly damp. Could have done with being aired , but as on ground floor I didn't want to sleep with the window open. Other than that hotel was very good value (£60.00 including... More

The room was in a detached carriage house behind the hotel proper, requiring us to walk through the restaurant to get to the lobby and street entrance. Location was not as convenient to Cardiff City Centre as we'd hoped. Breakfast was only available for a short time in the morning; we did not eat there. On the plus side, shower... More

The 'welcome' was efficient but not friendly, the room was a little cramped and , although clean, it was obvious that the shower had not been serviced since its last use. Breakfast was limited for the price bracket this hotel was in. I know that all hotels have off days but I am not tempted to stay here again.

Great location, only a few minutes walk to the city centre. A warm welcome on arrival and guided into the car park, it is a little tight for a van. Stayed in the coach house at the rear of the property, it was clean, tidy and very quiet (no road noise) Very good value. Would definitely stay again.
