Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here as part of a Christmas night out. The room was clean and very comfirtable with the biggest bed I've ever slept in!

Staff were helpful and friendly.

The food was tasty and plentiful. We will definately consider a repeat visit.

In 2015 stayed at the Wingfield with four other colleagues whilst we were working on 6 month contract. Initial intension was to stay for a couple of weeks, but enjoyed the Wingfield so much we stayed for the 6 months. Modern fresh rooms that are cleaned to a very high standard, staff very helpful and accommodating, fab food, nothing is too much trouble, Kay absolutely fantastic. A very warm and personable environment which was just what you look for when working away from home for a long period of time. Working in Wales this year for another 3 months so back at the Wingfield again. Would not go anywhere else.

First time in Caerphilly for a friend's stag do - we booked all the rooms, accommodation was excellent - comfortable and clean with tea facilities and tv in all rooms!

Staff were warm friendly and inviting. The buffet style breakfast and bottomless tea and coffee was much appreciated.

Recommend it to all!

Adequate for a 1 night. The staff in the bar were friendly and the meal in the restaurant was very good. The room was very clean & tidy but the double bed was a little on the small size. The bedside lights did not work. The bathroom had everything required including shampoo and shower gel and sufficient towels.
However the hotel does not offer any sort of breakfast.

Ive visited this pup on many accessions and I cant understand why the staff have they're lunch behind the bar, when I asked they said they dont get a break evan on an 8 hour shift wich I find a bit embarrassing for the staff having to eat at the bar and evan so so the owner and management.
I am a bit concerned coz me and the wife are in late 60s and haveing to wait for service when a young lady always seems to be on her phone, at our age we dont want to be hanging around waiting to get served wile the young lady keeps going on about America, evry time the same old, texting and talking its a shame that we are both considering going else where.
Great pub good food but the STAFF needs to change theway they work.

Booked for two nights, good accomadation, stayed for one night only as we were unable to gain access as the proximity door access had failed. Tried contacting the out of hours phone on a number of occasions but no answer. Found it very difficult to find an alternative hotel at 1am, slept in the car..... Cheers!

I stayed here twice over the last month and each time it has been excellent. The rooms are very clean and tidy, bathrooms as well which are all en-suite. The bar downstairs has some great staff that are very helpful and give great service. The menu for the bar/restaurant has great choices and the food is cooked fresh. All in all everything was superb and at a great price.
