The building is lovely and is well kept, as are the grounds. Superb location. On arrival, after a long sweaty day's cycling the owner seemed confused as to which rooms were allocated to whom and insisted on walking each couple to their rooms, although there was nothing to explain. This added a good 15 minutes to check in which meant...

Lovely property and gardens and house well appointed. Friendly service but noisy accommodation with wooden floorboards in bedrooms resulting in early morning alarm from early risers above our room. Nice big lounge overlooking landscape garden and a nice walk along the towpath of the River Usk

Had an amazing two nights stay here , the staff could not do enough for you the rooms were clean and tidy , lovely grounds set in a very tranquil area . Pub just across a quiet road. I think I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in and would have no hesitation...

Stayed here with my wife, son and grandson. Friendly, helpful staff were on hand to help us if needed. Swimming pool was great, breakfasts superb. Our room was really well appointed with added extras replenished daily. A great lounge to relax in with loads of books and games. Will definitely return when this way again

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The grounds are beautiful and breakfast was delicious. Our 7 year old loved the pool and chickens. We could hear the rushing of the river in the house. I found the room charming in its simplicity and our hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I would love to stay here again.

My husband, 14-year old son, and I stayed for two nights at The Malt House, and while the room itself (the attic room) was cramped, it was clean, quiet, and had a lovely view of the back garden. But the three main reasons I give this modest guest house a "very good" rating are 1) the incredibly kind and friendly...

Visiting Brecon in summer to attend two friends' wedding at Buckland Hall, a short distance away, i looked at local B&Bs for my accommodation. Recommended by two friends that had stayed the last but one New Years Eve, I opted for the Malt House. Located opposite The White Hart Inn and Bunkhouse, the Malt House is a classic property with...

The buildings is lovely and so are the extensive grounds (outdoor swimming pool), with free parking. I was slightly taken aback when the proprietor asked about the "purpose of our visit" when completing our registration. I felt it was none of his business. However, he was welcoming and friendly enough apart from that. Unfortunately we had one of the second-floor...

Whilst in Wales on business I stayed one night at The Malt House in Talybont-on-Usk. This is a beautiful setting and a stunning 7 bedroom property with 2 acres of grounds, an outdoor swimming pool, a separate holiday let cottage and the river running right past the side of the property. I arrived at dusk and the house was illuminated...
