Centrally located in Brecon with off street parking (albeit a somewhat compact car park!)..The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the welcome very friendly. The breakfast was first class and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Best of all, it was great value for money, we enjoyed Brecon very much, it's a lovely and friendly place and we will definitely... Stayed for only the one night but next time in Brecon we will definately stay longer. The Borderers is a quirky building with up and down floors, low ceilings and all that you would expect of a property well over 300 hundred years old. The landlady herself was very friendly. The property, we were informed, is up for sale. It... More

Just got back from two nights stay and really enjoyed it. Room was clean, cozy and warm with a good size bathroom with a nice shower. We were made to feel very welcome and so was our dog and we were given lots of useful advice about things to do and see. Really enjoyed the full English breakfast which kept... More

Just returned from a 2 night stay, we had the cabin at the rear of the property, so was very quiet. The room was clean and well equipped with sofa, tv tea/coffee making facilities, toiletries were also provided, double bed with clean fresh linen and adequate towels. The breakfast in the morning was lovely , served by very pleasant young... More

The staff were friendly and gave me a quiet room as requested, unfortunately the guests in the next room arrived back late and were a bit noisy. The breakfast was well cooked. The countryside around this area is beautiful and it is a short walk to the town and canal basin.

Very clean and good value for money stayed for 2 nights. Each night we got a good sleep even though its next to a main road. We even got a great breakfast served in the morning, will be recommended to friends and family.

Excellent place to stay in Brecon, unless you want ultra modern and characterless place to stay. We got a very warm welcome, comfy bed, great hot breakfast to set you up for the day. Although we had a room at the front, had a great nights sleep with no noise. Lovely town and area, will be back...thank you

A great place to base yourselves for a break in the Brecon Beacons. Jan and Ian were very welcoming and friendly. Everything you need is provided, extra blankets, towels etc and the place is very clean and tidy. Carpets a bit lairy and definitely older style of decor throughout, however this is nothing to be concerned about as everything else... More

Borderers is perfectly located to explore the Brecon Beacons, and the town of Brecon itself. The room was clean, had everything I needed for my stay, and onsite parking, whilst a bit of a squeeze to get in, meant your car was secure overnight. Good choice at breakfast, very happy with my decision to stay there.

whilst we were working in Brecon, we had a look around to find somewhere to stay, i must admit this is by far the best we looked at. The rooms were very clean, spacious, with en-suite. Breakfast was out of this world, would 100% recommend this guest house to anyone wanting to feel at home from home. Top draw

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A 17th century coaching Inn - 1645, to be precise, along with all the old bits still intact. We are constantly striving to keep everything up to date, with the addition of WiFi etc. The floors still creak, and we get reported sightings of ghosts.(We have never had such an experience in our 15 years here! Dare we suggest that it may just be the proximity of too many pubs?)Enjoy! ... more   less
