The Royal Oak is a lovely older property with lots of charm. The staff were all extremely friendly. The rooms were older but nicely appointed and the hotel is well situated. The appearance of the building is old world grand but the atmosphere is casual warm and friendly. A very pleasant night.

Food was nice but the best part was Mairi. Run off her feet she served us with a smile, kept us informed with the timings and brought us everything came together. Reslly accommodated our requests. Lovely and good value, spent £170 ish on 6 of us. We then went in to the Stables next door just after 10pm, and bought...

When we first arrived, our initial impression was actually that the hotel looked more tired in real life than in the photos. However it totally grew on us! The staff were lovely. The lady on reception on nights is the most friendly and welcoming person ever, and all the staff were very good. There are a lot of stairs, a...

We've just come back from a wonderful week away in North Wales. Everything about our break was great including staying at the Royal Oak. The reception staff were exceptional, not only were they friendly, polite and professional but they were always so happy to advise and discuss the various attractions in the area, including the best way to tackle Snowdonia,...

Food lovely but service was terrible although the grill area was very quiet. We had to get our own menu's and when nobody came to take our order I assumed we must place the order at the bar. When I tried to do this the waitress told me that she would see to us when she had finished the rest...

We tried to book for a Friday night to be told they had no room in the restaurant and they had a wedding the day after so we would only be able to eat in the bar which we did. On both arrival and departure all the tables in the restaurant were empty and there were only reservation cards on...

Ate at the hotel restaurant, food delicious and lady who looked after us in the restaurant really stood out as she was so accommodating. Enjoyed it so much our first night we booked again for the next night.

Stopped here for lunch on a sunny Sunday, the town was packed as was the Royal Oak, quickly managed to get a table for six outside so our little dog was no trouble. Lunch was served reasonably quick despite all six of us ordering different meals.mThe food was excellent, fantastic quality and taste. Highly recommend the Welsh beef pie.

My husband and I decided to have lunch here after reading the menu. It was quite busy, but our order of spaghetti bolognese and loin of pork with pepper sauce arrived quickly and was very well cooked and plentiful. The staff were polite and helpful. We would definitely go back again.

Stayed here a few times when in the area for business. The rooms I've had are a little dated but v clean and comfortable. Free wifi in the hotel. You do get a bit of noise if you stay at the front of the hotel. Free car parking opposite or at the back of the hotel. Breakfast is cooked to...
