First visit and was very impressed. The Panini with bacon etc was really good and tasted very fresh with home made coleslaw. Welsh Rarebit delicious and beautifully presented. The toilets were very modern and well kept. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Very comfortable room of a decent size for a single occupancy. Had dinner in the grill restaurant with family which was very tasty and generous portions. Waitress very helpful. Good choice of menu. Steaks, chicken, pork, burgers, vegetarian options. Not rushed. Really reasonable prices.

Visited today for a family 'do', uncle's 85th birthday. We had a row of tables in a bright and spacious conservatory area. The food was excellent, looked proper 'cheffy' in presentation and tasted to match. Sensible portion sizes and served on actual plates rather than boards or, god help us, bits of slate. I don't do desserts (never had a...

We wouldn't have found this Hotel on our own - thanks to our tour director , Idwal Jones of Country Lane Tours, we had a splendid week visiting small villages and other attractions in northern and middle Wales. Great hotel - friendly, food was marvelous, village was charming. Of 15 different trips to Europe, this trip stands out.

We booked the Royal Oak as it is a convenient stop on the A5 having arrived at Holyhead from Ireland. In fact we stayed two nights. We had requested a room with a walk in shower but although that wasn't offered when we checked in they quickly rearranged things to suit with a room at the rear of the hotel....

Had lunch here today. An excellent two/ three courses menu at a very reasonable price. Roast Beef, Lamb and Pork, full main course with great veg. Meat from local farms, names displayed on Board. Great taste, good portions. A really good selection on the menu plus full range of mains and snacks on the Main Menu. We four were so...

We had dinner here. We were ushered into the bistro area and the seat I was offered had old stains on it. I ordered the fig and pigeon entree. The pigeon was nice I had never had it before there was no fig which I had also never had before. No explanation was offered. The main was ok. It was...

We actually stayed in the Stables portion of this hotel. The rooms were a good size, the bathrooms were recently redone and it was a clean hotel overall. The only odd thing was that each room only really had two single beds, instead of a double. So that was odd for the couples.

We had travelled 36 hours altogether from our door in Australia to the Royal Oak's, and were met with such a friendly welcome. They were so accommodating it felt such a relief to arrive at such a beautiful place and feel instantly relaxed. The rooms were beautiful, shower was amazing especially after all the traveling, all in all very cosy...
