+ Kind hostess. The room upstairs was fine and clean. The mattress upstairs had just been replaced and was very good. - We rented this when it was the last place in town not taken yet; that might say enough. You rent a house for 4p, but it's just not worth it. It has an air of neglect over it,...

Had a lovely time rooms fab, hospitality great and breakfast very good! Little further out from Bath but actually that was a good thing. Would definitely recommend to others and very reasonable by Nath prices. What more can I say a little bit of luxury at affordable price!

Beautiful place, very cosy. Been coming 15 years for the international eisteddfod. There are good facilities and a comfy bed, I was as snug as a bug in a rug. There are comfy beds, tea facilities, beautiful bathroom, which was handy from me as I am disabled. The food was super, lovely Breakfast. The landlord is very understanding and kind enough...

I've stayed at poplar house B&B and also the cottage on several occasions when visiting family near by. I find both to be everything you would want in a place to stay, it is quaint, clean and homely. The owner is very welcoming and accommodating throughout. There is a wide range of breakfasts to choose from, all cooked and presented...

After a long day walking with friends was really looking forward to relaxing in the hot tub which was advertised. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the accommodation was definitely not up to a reasonable standard so decided to stay elsewhere. I doubt I would have let my dog stay in the room offered!

After a long day walking Offa's Dyke we arrived at our pre-booked B&B, The landlady was polite, but the accommodation is very untidy and felt dirty, we decided to loose our deposit and stay elsewhere. The place needs tidying up - sorry I don't like leaving negative feedback, but I would not recommend this B&B

Me and partner stay in the cottage behind the house for 5 weeks. Am disabled and it was fitted out brillant and found the bathroom, kitchen was easy to access. Even though the main bedroom was upstairs the landlady offered to move the bed downstairs so I wouldn't have to climb the stairs. The landlady was making sure we we're...

We stayed in a "cottage" behind the main house. Bedroom upstairs, sitting, kitchen and bathroom downstairs. Bathroom had been fitted out for disabled but there didn't seem to be much sense in this because of the stairs. Shower head in bathroom had broken and a repair attempted with the result most of the water never came out the shower head....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located close to the centre of Llangollen, Poplar House is an impressive building dating from the early 1700s which, for much of its lifetime, served as a Coaching Inn. It's now the family home of Ginny Leon who have furnished and decorated the house throughout with great style and taste. In the main house there are 2 spacious guest bedrooms, all with TVs and DVDs, and two private bathrooms which are comprehensively equipped and meticulously maintained. Rated Three star with Visit Wales (Welsh Tourist Board). More accommodation is available in the converted Coach House at the rear of the house. Here, one of the units has been fully equipped for disabled guests with wide doors, low bath and a drive-in shower. The other is furnished in traditional cottage style and can be used on either a self-catering or B&B basis. These two units can also be interlinked making them ideal for a family with someone who is disabled. Guests can enjoy either a Continental breakfast or a full English 4-course breakfast. ... more   less
