Place was very cold and not helped by the fact we had to wait 3 hours for 2 courses. It was a family get together and it was spoilt. Food under cooked and in my case part was raw with the outside rock hard. Definitely wouldn't go back

You only have average or very good on Tripadvisor - so you can't say good which is a bit of a shame! We went for dinner with family - the restaurant is lacking a bit of character, although it is pleasant enough........service was extremely charming, but a bit slow/forgetful. The food was all very nice except for the quorn fillets...

Have been here s couple times before and it's one of our favourite fine dining restaurants, we travel from Cardiff. Popped in Sunday and were surprised to learn the Crkebrity Chef Matt Turbott no longer ran it, he's rented it out, but the same chef is in the kitchen. We had the Sunday roast and it was delicious and very...

We booked a table for 3 on the Monday before Xmas; yet another enjoyable visit. Meals were served promptly and in good style; ample portions, well cooked and served by a most efficient and delightful young waitress who was so attentive and efficient, she made the whole meal a sheer delight.. Noting was too much trouble and she received a...

This is the second time we have visited the Foxhunter since its been under new management. I can only describe the food as stunning- cooked to perfection and piping hot! Service was quick and staff efficient but not to the extent that you were being rushed. We used to visit this pub years ago when it was a country pub...

My wife & I booked here for an evening meal on Saturday evening for the first time since it's been under the new management. How glad we are that we did!! excellent in every way! A friendly welcome, followed by a selection of really fine food to select from (and at sensible prices too!) Our meals were served by smartly...

As a fairly regular visitor here, I have seen many different people at the restaurant. On the whole, my fellow diners have been lovely, and the meal has been memorable. The food has always been fantastic and the service friendly. Lunches have been relaxed, dinners have been exceptional and atmospheric, and Sunday lunches friendly. The Foxhunter has a knack of...

I booked the Foxhunter Restaurant recently to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. We travelled about 25/30 miles to get there, but it was well worth it. The Menu choice was so different than expected, with its extra trimmings, sauces & accompaniments. My wife chose rib-eye steak, which melted in her mouth, and the flavour was exquisite. She doesn't normally chose a...

My partner and I have visited Lisa and Matt on around six occasions, sometimes just for a meal, but usually combining the food with a stay at one of the two cosy cottages. I rarely write reviews so for me to do so means something is exceptional, and in this case that means everything. At the restaurant you feel as...

“Both the Old Stable and the Cottage are just a few steps away from the restaurant. As a single traveller I prefer the Stable, but anyone with a child would perhaps rather be accommodated in the Cottage.”

“The Stable is perfect for single travellers or a couple - modern & stylish interior. The cottage has 2 bedrooms so would suit a family - cosy & charming (with a small ouside area for the Summer).”

“If you have a wheelchair user in your party, you may want to check before going to the restaurant whether they can provide a table that you can be seated at comfortably. It may also be worth checking how easy it is to access the disabled toilet (fine for mobile people using walking aids but I am not sure you could get a wheelchair in and the toilet is a normal height). If you have high blood pressure you might want to ask them not to add additional salt to your dishes.”
