This is an old building dating back to Tudor times. Stayed in room 10 which is up some old rickety stairs and needed to watch out for some lovely low beams. Ate in the hotel both nights and the food was very tasty and well presented. The young staff are attentive, helpful and friendly and the breakfast sea also top...

The family had a lovely relaxed Sunday Lunch. Huge Yorkshire puds and delicious roast beef. Friendly staff and prompt service. This pub just oozes old world charm and as a notice in the hall says, even the Civil War couldn't close it. Can well recommend it. Although we were all grown ups, I did see a big stack of high...

I booked here on the strength of a colleagues review. On arrival I checked in with Chloe (who knew my home town well) who also then found me a time for evening meal despite a late arrival. My room had bags of character, and was clean and nicely presented. The evening meals were excellent and very reasonable as was the...

A very nice hotel, centrally situated, with convenient nearby park for dog walking along the river. Parking a bit tricky initially, but one is just opposite, £2 for 4 hrs, no fee on Sundays, & another nearby is free except on Tues. Room (2) was good, very roomy, nice bathroom. Staff all very friendly & helpful & food was good....

Called here for lunch and was very happy that we decided to try here. I had the soup which was leek and onion and was extremely tasty and filling. My husband had the muscles with tripe cooked chips and he was very happy with his. I tried the chips and have to say I am not a fan of chips...

We stayed for 2 nights over new year and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very glad we could bring our dog and he was made very welcome even given a sausage for breakfast! The room was comfortable and the food very good standard. There is a free car park close by (no parking on site). A nice little town to spend...

We stayed two nights in December absolutely lovely experience, noted a reviewer alluded to the staff being young and inexperienced and I totally disagree, they were young but were also polite, friendly, efficient and energetic and made the stay a total pleasure. Had the blue room upstairs with beams and wonky walls which was delightful. Evening meal was gorgeous as...

We stayed recently in one of the attic rooms, big comfortable bed, lovely beams on the ceilings and a freestanding bath. Everything we could want in the room, tea making facilities, toiletries, tv/DVD and a fan. Having to hand your key in every time you go out seems strange especially as it took a good ten minutes for us to...

We stayed here for two nights. Visiting the Becon Beacon National Park & Abergavenny. We stayed in Room 1 which was a lovely dual aspect spacious room & ensuite with dual basin. We were a little disappointed that we didn't realise December signifies the hotel being booked out for Xmas parties so we were unable to have dinner in the...
