This 'hotel' is basically a pub with rooms. Check in is awkward as you have to go into the adjacent restaurant and if people are eating it's not ideal. The communal hallways are clean enough but the room was not so good. Behind the bedside table I found biscuit wrappers, hair clips and a thick layer of dust. The room... More

Had a very pleasant evening with Kelly at the Bar! Reasonably priced beer, food is available in the adjoining restaurant, I particularly enjoyed Kelly singing to the juke box. Tracey Chapman "Fast Car" a speciality!!!! Recommend a visit....

Stayed at this very central hotel in Abergavenny for one night. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Rooms spotlessly clean. Had a snack in the bar on arrival which was tasty. We were tempted by the restaurant in the evening serving Indian and Nepalese cuisine and we were not disappointed, again service with a smile and superb food. Would certainly... More

Wish I could review this hotel but unfortunately we didn't get the chance. Myself and a friend booked a room through booking.com for Saturday night after a wedding in Abergavenny. I called on the Friday to enquire about parking and as the hotel didn't have private parking it made more sense to drive straight to the wedding venue and park... More

The staff were welcoming, a bit in your face but friendly enough, the restaurant was dark and crammed and not at all inviting. We decided not to eat there but had a quick drink, we were originally going to book a room there but chose the Abergavenny instead, a much better choice as it turned out. For this reason I... More

We called in to kill an hour before the Beatles tribute band was playing in the Borough Theatre for a drink. The bar staff were very friendly and the drinks were good but that's about it . Its looking old and tired with no comfortable seating, that said its like all uk pubs now. £0.95 for a packet of crisps... More

Staff are very friendly and helpful - lovely people. Hotel is superbly located - right in the town centre next to the fabulous indoor market. Room was very clean and had an excellent en-suite and heating was easy to adjust. Very comfortable and excellent value. Car park just around the corner is very good value so that wasn't an issue.... Went to this Hotel during the Abergavenny Food Festival.. Hotel was packed and it was a nice day so we sat outside with tables provided. Place was very busy so we decided to have no meal but just a drink. I had some Red Wine which was ordered at a temporary bar outside..My partner ordered a coffee.. Waited some time.The... More

What a lovely little country hotel in the heart of this delightful market town. Being right next to the market hall is a real bonus. Stayed the night so we could go to the market on Tuesday and flea market on Wednesday. Reasonably priced for this hotel - not a flashy hotel, but an authentic one with lots of character... More
