I have put a helpful comment against a previous Christmas Day review for the owner’s comment NOT to actual review, which appears malicious and is, I can assure you, totally inaccurate. I was part of a group of 7 who ate at L’Aumse Bouche on Christmas Day. What a wonderful

Thank you for your review Francesca curlycoats...... whoever you are, We have been forewarned that a local restaurant/hotel to us has launched a vendetta against us and I guess this is it. Happy New Year to you too :-) We know for a fact that you've never eaten here or even been on the premises so we can only label this as malicious and childlike to the extreme. For your information, Fresh Winter black truffle popcorn and the best marinated olives were served with drinks in the lounge and that was followed by a 5 course fine dining experience in the restaurant to follow , not your regular Christmas offerings, its a shame you weren't here to experience and enjoy the day . The majority of those that came have already re-booked for next year and that is proof enough for us. Your previous review under a different name was deemed fraudulent by TripAdvisor and we will of course be reporting this one as well. We notice that you have never been on this site before and have just joined purely to offer your drivel . This site is for genuine customers who can help the industry with professional critique. Might I suggest that you contact us directly as you obviously have a problem that needs addressing. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Chris, Barbara and all the seriously happy staff and customers

All tips are distributed throughout the staff that work the front of house. If Housekeeping or kitchen staff are offered a tip by a customer, then they are obliged to keep them but offer a self declaration at the financial year end. .. All tips that we are aware of are added to the staff wages and are then taxed at source as has been the practice for some years now on the advice of the Inland revenue. A member of staffs basic pay rate differs upon experience and then an hourly amount is added to include any tips that we are offered. This then gives all staff a very much, above average hourly rate which is of course subject to taxation but leaves them having received tips in full but clear of any tax implications. Please contact us if you would like so that we can explain this in more detail if it helps and so that this worrying review may be removed forthwith. Sincerely Chris and Barbara Morgan

Are dogs allowed in the restaurant?
Not in the restaurant, but Barbara and Chris are very accommodating, I think dogs are allowed in the bar and you can eat in there if you are unable to leave your dog. Best thing to do is give them a call and I’m sure they will help you out.
