returned today from a two night break at The Lygon Arms. Staff were as welcoming as before. Beautiful room and nice welcoming log fires in lounges and dining room as always. Staff in the Great Hall were excellent - some staff were obviously new to working there but were well trained and well versed in service and the menu. As...

We have known the Lygon Arms for many years from visits to the Cotswolds but never stayed so our expectations were high. We were not disappointed. It is a very old building which makes good use of the several small lounges on the ground floor which are charming, comfortable and have a real log fire in each. We had a...

I booked a spa pamper package for myself and my mom as a Mother's Day treat and it didn't disappoint. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the spa facilities were good. We both picked the neck, shoulder and back massage as well as a facial and our beauty therapist Natalie was great! We had lunch as part...

We have recently returned from an overnight stay for an anniversary treat. We were very impressed by the lovely historic building and little touches like valet parking and having our luggage taken to our room. Our room, which was not in the main building, was newly decorated, tastefully furnished and felt as though it had some character. It had a...

We have just returned from staying at this hotel for a few days. Although it is undergoing extensive upgrading, we were not inconvenience at all by the ongoing work. We had a superior king which is on the list for renovation, but it had a sitting area and bedroom and was of a good size, warm and comfortable. We were...

Feeling very jaded after the winter we booked a Sunday evening stay at this hotel to cheer ourselves up. Since it's quite expensive we took advantage of the lower rates and chose the least expensive room. Classed as "cosy" it was rather smaller than most rooms we favour but was perfectly satisfactory with very comfy twin beds and a pleasant...

I felt that this hotel had seen better times. Everything had the appearance of being very old and tired - a lack of investment in the hotel. The hotel dining room was probably the one exception to this - grand surroundings. The food was beautifully cooked and well presented and there was a good selection of wines. Service was quick...

To come this place is to back in time, the atmosphere, feel the warm of the beautiful place. The rooms are so nice, that you nearly feel at home, just with a touch of luxury, still in the old still, but with all new, also the high tech, without that you see it. Food is pefect, all good, top. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Imagine a hotel where roaring log-burning open fireplaces hint at its roots dating from the 1300's. Picture a Great Hall Restaurant with a vaulted ceiling and original wood panelling built in the seventeenth century. Visit a hotel that has been coloured by the characters of history. At The Lygon Arms, with its 78 rooms you can stay in the suite that King Charles I once stayed in the night before the Battles of Worcester in 1651. See the carvings of John Travis' name on the arch of the front door, etched into the hotel's history in 1620. An historic hotel in the heart of Broadway with a typically Cotswolds history. Dine in The Great Hall, Barringtons our typical all day dining brasserie or have lunch, a coffee or a Cotswold Gin and Tonic in one of our many lounges. A spa , swimming pool and The Lygon Gardens await you but most importantly the team look forward to welcoming you. . ... more   less
