Quirky beautiful full of character hotel. Staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for you. Our superior room had dark wood panelling, a stone fireplace and the most comfortable king size bed. The only down side was there are no phones in the rooms, the second morning there was no water in the show, this was due to renovations of...

We went here as a spontaneous date night on a Saturday. After being made feel like idiots for not booking at 2 other restaurants we were pleasantly surprised when the waitress led us straight to a table with a smile. The warm cosy place was a nice shelter from the freezing cold outside. We then ordered starters and mains which...

We had a lovely family meal for my Mums 80th Birthday on Sunday 6th November. The staff were friendly and more than happy to give you a great experience. We sat in a great place away from the door, which is always helpful when you have older people with you and the decor was very stylish and pleasing to the...

We visited this restaurant on the 6/11/2016 for an 80th birthday meal on a Sunday afternoon. The staff made us feel very welcome and were very accommodating, allowing us to decorate the table and stick banners on the wall. We each had starters, me and a couple of others decided to have the sharing platter which was very tasty and...

What a lovely old hotel, lots of period features sloping floors, wonky stairs and exposed beams! The location is spot on in the centre of town right near the catherdral, grab your car park voucher to park locally (£6 for 24hrs) The bedroom was a good size finished to a high standard (room 8) bed very comfy. Shower great. Overlooked...

The Chapter House is amazing, the food is lovely, and it is a lovely atmosphere. The staff are great. Everytime we go there the service is fantastic, great variety of drinks, and friendly staff. The Sunday roasts are fantastic. I would recommend it for anyone who wants a nice chilled out, but at the same time some lovely food.

What's not to like about this place. For us it remains the best place to have a drink in Salisbury, and our belief is that the food has improved under the new chef. We really like the daily special board; long may it live and hopefully multiply in choice. What works so well is the different tables, different parts of...

We chose this hotel after sourcing those recommended to us in an unknown city, and can`t convey enough how pleased we were with our choice. The rooms were quaint and spotless, with everything needed for a weekend stay, including an iron and board! Loved the slipper bath. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were all extremely helpful and...

While we did not stay at the hotel, we reserved a table for 3 for a Saturday lunch at the restaurant. The service was excellent -- friendly and attentive. The food was very good. The atmosphere was also good as the restaurant is situated in a quaint old building. Would definitely go back.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in the heart of historic Salisbury, The Chapter House comprises a cosy steakhouse restaurant, friendly pub and 17 comfortable letting rooms. It lies within easy reach of some of Southern England's most important landmarks. The stone for the Salisbury Cathedral, a mere five minute walk away, was cut in what is now the restaurant, making the hotel's initial construction almost 800 years old. Some of the original stone and ironwork is still left exposed inside the property. The 17 boutique en-suite rooms are all unique and quirky, some with original panelling and fireplaces and all with fluffy goose down duvets, Egyptian cotton linen, luxurious H2K toiletries and flatscreen TVs. The Chapter House boasts a bustling restaurant and grillhouse where flame grilled steaks, a la carte dining and hearty pub food are served in an ambient environment. The perfect base when visiting Wiltshire's historic sites, The Chapter House is also an ideal stop over en route to the coast or as a home-from-home option when on a business trip. ... more   less
