Visited the New Inn this lunchtime after not having been there for a few years. Just as good as we remembered, and the fish and chips were excellent. We really enjoyed the meal, and the staff were extremely friendly and pleasant. Toilet facilities were good and very clean. We'll be back!

Wonderful building with lots of character, plenty of space, as well as quite large outside seating area, sun was shinning so we sat out to eat. Quick service, reasonable prices. Homemade burger delicious prawns a wee bit over cooked but tasty none the less. Good value for money.

My husband and I arrived one Saturday lunchtime hoping to meet a friend for a spot of lunch. We arrived at 1.05pm to be told that lunch was no longer being served and that they might start again later on in the day. What kind of pub stops selling food at that time in the afternoon when it is the...

A very small helping of caesar salad for £9.95 .. For a main meal it's too small for the price. I live locally and have eaten here quite a few times. The coleslaw was the saddest thing coleslaw I've ever seen. It has no mayonnaise and was a tiny dried up bit of cabbage. Gordon Ramsay would have had a...

Last minute one night getaway to Salisbury on a Sunday. Chose this pub close to the city centre as we have eaten there before and a lovely pub but never stayed. Reviews were very good but put off a little bit by no on-suite bathroom and parking. On arrival as before we were greeted by very polite and helpful staff....

Staff are really lovely and customer service is great, plus the place itself is cosy and the beer garden is gorgeous. Just was disappointed with the food as it seemed really expensive for what it is. £10 for a mushroom burger and fries which pretty much consisted of a single mushroom in a bun with some salad and a small...

That the New Inn is a lovely old building goes without saying. However the kitchen is excellent and the food well prepared and nicely presented. My only negative would be that the bread is boring industrial stuff - but that is not enough to remove a star. The service is first class. The young manager has assembled a delightful group...

Our taxi driver said this is his favorite pub, so after we toured the Cathedral, we had a pint or two before catching our train back to London. Great decision. Did not try the food, but the brew and atmosphere more than met our expectations.

Very warm welcome - offered a taster of beer. Wonderful log fires in both bars we looked in. Friendly, smiley faces and brilliant service. Toilets 21st century - ultra modern - superb - very clean. Well worth a visit - very close to Cathedral (a minutes walk) and city centre.
