This is a three stars hotel, so do not expect the ritz. We had a room up in the roof area with the walls sloping in following the line of the roof, so be careful you don't bend forward and bang your head, like I did a few times. Old building so plenty of creaking floorboards. A bit tired and... More

I stayed for one night in January, in a standard double. The room was on the 2nd floor (no lift) so fine if you are mobile. Heating was on in room, more than warm. Plenty of car parking. Staff fine and helpful. Hotel room was large, with en-suite. Clean, and comfortable bed. Traditional old world charm, which is now a... More

I had need of a hotel near to Salisbury district Hospital and found the Grasmere. I booked in through the hotel's website for a deluxe double room for 5 nights initially, at a cost of UK75.00 per night, promising views of the Cathedral etc. I asked for an early book in as I had an overnight long haul flight and... Stayed here for one night on business, booked through late rooms and requested a ground floor room which was honoured. The room itself was spacious and very clean, it had a lovely homely feel to it. Wifi and phone signal were both great. The shower was amazing, really powerful and instantly hot. My room overlooked the beautiful riverside setting, I... More

Stayed for one night recently with my husband. Bargain price through booking.com. We stayed in a superior double room. On arrival we were over an hour early for check in and planned to leave the car and walk into the town and return to check in later, however we were told we could have our room early which was a... Stayed here on New Years Eve with two other couples. We could not have been more pleased. Just a 10min walk to Cathedral and city centre. Our room was clean and tidy and quite spacious as were our friends rooms. The staff very helpful and attentive. The buffet was second to none, a fantastic choice of dishes and lots of... More

My son recently booked this hotel for his reception so the guests that needed overnight accommodation all stayed here. BRILLIANT and I do not just speak for myself. Very clean and cosy room, huge comfortable bed and an excellent breakfast. All staff were incredibly polite and the whole experience could not have been better. Would recommend it to everyone and... This was our 7th visit to the grasmere and the fabulous room 33 overlooking the river, lawn & cathedral. We love this hotel very much. It's just so welcoming, clean, friendly and pretty intimate. We don't like fancy or snobby hotels and so this place which is old, creaky, characterful and unique suits us down to the ground. The bedroom... More
