We chose the Grasmere as our wedding venue. The organising and planning with the general manager a Babs was great, she was friendly, helpful and always happy to help. On the day unfortunately things didn't go entirely to plan, due to unexpected rain, they weren't completely ready for us when we arrived, so there was a short delay on welcome...

We stayed with our dog loved the room and four poster bed. Receptionist couldnt have been nicer. Breakfast was ok staff could learn to smile more. Basic level food items , jam in sachets, tinned peaches.

Very disappointed with size and quality of room. Used for a meeting with five people. Basically a bedroom with a table in it. The bed folded up into the wall. Very cramped and very cold. Everything about it was tired. Such a shame when it is in such a stunning location. Only positive would be good parking.

Half term with the grandkids and we were going from Portsmouth Historic Dockyards to Stonehenge and then on to The Fleet Air Arm Museum at. Salisbury was on the way and the Grasmere Hotel was ideally situated near the city centre. We had a good room with double and two singles and the children were made up - plenty of...

We needed a last minute room in Salisbury and this came up in a search with available rooms and was reasonably priced. From the outside it looks quite grand and there is plenty of parking. Unfortunately when you get inside things go down hill. The whole place is just a bit dated and looks like it could do with a...

From the outside the hotel look stunning, plenty of parking and is well maintained. Then you walk through the door to the reception area that is so very dismal, dated and in need of a massive overhaul and update; the decor makes the reception look all over the place and messy. The staff however are very welcoming and friendly. The...

We stayed several times during our visits to Salisbury mainly because of its location. The hotel is right next to the river which offers great views especially during the summer time. The rooms has got quite romantic feel to it but the reception and dining area is quite dated. The "restaurant" was very noisy, especially on our last visit and...

A nice professionally run hotel with a family feel to it. Check-in was fast and we were allowed in the room even though it was only just after 12pm, we got a free upgrade to a bigger room for some reason (booked it with Hotels.com) and breakfast was just what you'd want for a wander round Salisbury. Just stayed the...

Salisbury in the night seems a dead city. Empty streets, dark houses and sometimes you seem to hear voices that come from nowhere. Like in  horror films. Waiting for a ghost appearing from around the corner. I was really scared! But in the day time its a realy good place. The hotel sits by the river not far away from...
