We were made to feel extremely comfortable, (thank you so very much!). We arrived late but the owner was so very accommodating, welcoming us in with open arms, fresh tea and coffee and the most amazing homemade carrot cake! We enjoyed relaxing in the lounge late into the evening, admiring the art and flicking through a wide array of books.... More

I would rate this as one of my favourite BnBs from our 3 week trip in the UK. I absolutely loved the shared study with the wonderful collection of books and magazines. Amazing breakfast with freshly made muffins and gorgeous fresh berries and it is served in a lovley sun bathed dining room! Parking is easily available near the house.... More

Merivale House is quaint little property with a gorgeous backyard. The owner was friendly and the made-to-order breakfast was one of the best I had during my recent holiday. Those things having been said, it was a bit farther from town than I hoped and the room was adequate but not really comfortable. I appreciate that this is the family... More

Dear Guest, I am sorry that you were unhappy with your stay. I am slightly saddened that books and films are considered to be clutter, but have removed some of them to create some empty shelves. The bed in the room is general given a very positive review, hopefully if unable to sleep you were able to make use of... More

Stayed for one night whilst in the area for work. Very comfortable and friendly, guest lounge are is a good idea as is the video and book library. Breakfast in the conservatory was very nice, can't comment on the cooked breakfast as there was an issue with the power in the morning which was unfortunate.

We had a great stay at the Merivale. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming. Clean, tidy and a great breakfast with more than usual on offer. Great location as only 10-15 minutes walk into Shrewsbury. Our hosts daughter even dog sat for us so we could visit a restaurant rather than usual pub grub - thank you again.

Merivale House is a two-room bed and breakfast. It had the most comfortable bed and pillows of our 3-week driving tour of Great Britain. In addition to the two guest rooms on the 1st floor (English system) of the house, there was also a comfortable lounge for use of the guests. The cooked to order breakfast offered 4 choices and... We spent a wonderful weekend in this lovely B&B in June. The welcome was warm, the accommodation comfortable and spacious and the breakfast indulgent! The garden was beautiful. We were able to use the B&B as a base to explore the surrounding area including, of course, stonehenge. Our hostess couldn't do enough for us and we will definitely return for another... More

My husband and I spent nine days on a research mission for a novel we are writing. All of them were evenings at Merivale House. We took off to Wales, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Stonehenge and beyond. Each day we woke to an amazingly wonderful breakfast. Lovliest garden view, had it been less rainy, it would have been lovliest garden breakfast with... More

“The room at the rear of the house is the larger of the two and has a large bath. Its mattress and pillows are great! The only shortcoming is the absence of any shower curtain or other splash guard around the tub.”
