We were a couple travelling with a small dog. Room was very comfortable and at the back so no road noise at all. We ate dinner Saturday evening which was above average pub grub. Breakfast was good lots of choice. The highlight for us was the large bath sheets , non of this fighting with a small bath towel to cover...

Comfortable stay in a convenient location for the town centre & castle. Great breakfast & good service. Footpaths direct from hotel to town or surrounding countryside. Plenty of on site parking. Good value.

Meal. The food was absolutely lovely. All local. Or as local as could be. I had a beautiful starter of maple glazed chipolata sausages and a Wittering caught beer battered cod and chips which was excellent. My wife had the mixed breads which were served red hot and one of the specials of the day(of which there were plenty of...

Party of 6 in 3 double rooms, none of us had any complaints, the rooms were comfortable and clean, the in-room tea, coffee and biscuits facilities was a nice welcome touch. The staff were very helpful and friendly, particularly the young girl that served us breakfast, on her own on the morning of the 7th, but very efficiently. Had a...

Really busy, good quality food and service. Some superb meats and a good veggie offer. Roast potatoes could be improved, but Yorkshire puddings and crackling was excellent. Definitely try and book in advance as every table seemed to be reserved! Happy for large parties, we had 18 people for an 80th birthday!

My partner & I stayed here for one night, and it was really lovely. We were concerned when we arrived as it was on a busy road, but our room was at the back and we didn't hear a thing. The staff couldn't be friendlier! We ate dinner & breakfast here & it was delicious. Our room was spacious, comfortable...

We always drive past this hotel as it looks so expensive from the outside. However, this year we went in for lunch having checked the menu on-line. Typical English Pub Restaurant - carpet and beams - and comfortable chairs! The menü was different and not the cheapest, but the food was great and the portions more than sufficient. The only...

We stayed at the White swan after a friend's wedding. The rooms are of a good size and the beds are comfortable, but the bathrooms are small with feeble showers. Glazing is good and so there is little road noise despite the pub being on the main road

I was at the White Swan to celebrate Christmas with about 20 work colleagues. Our choices of food were chosen ahead of time. We were crammed round the table like cattle, and trying to eat was like dining on an aircraft!! I and another colleague had to return pork chops because they were undercooked, and when they returned my meal...
