Had a birthday surprise for my fiancee by staying in this well run hotel. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and provided 10/10 customer satisfaction for our stay. The food is amazing even though a tad pricey, however do not the price ruin the quality of food and service. The bedroom we stayed in was out of this world, really spacious... More

I wanted a treat for myself and my wife during our month long road trip in England. I have always wanted to stay in a Abbey and I wasn't disappointed. In my next life I am going to join a religious order that has a beautiful abbey like this one. The entrance was very period and inviting. The large room... More

Visited here today for afternoon tea with a ladies networking group that I am part of and have to say I was blown away by the beauty of the place. On such an icy crisp day, the warming interior and fabulously classy Xmas decorations were very welcome. Afternoon tea was lovely and plentiful. I've already declared to my other half... More

I soooo, loved this very special hotel, stayed for my birthday last week (23rd). Have to agree with some comments written about "dim" lighting in rooms. Forgot my own hair dryer, so used the low voltage one supplied, it took ages. Annoyed by having to pay for parking....food was lovely and staff were excellent, especially at breakfast. Would go there... More

The character and ambience of this hotel cannot be duplicated. There are historic features at every turn and period furniture to enhance the whole feel of the hotel. Complimentary fruit and mince pies await guests on arrival. We stayed in a room in the annex building which inside still has that 'abbey character'. All very comfy, clean and warm. A... More

What a comedy of errors... the best thing I can say about this experience is that it was so awful that it made it funny. We booked the Festive Lunch for 3 adults and 1 infant for late afternoon and paid upfront. We then get the first phonecall saying we'd not paid enough as there were 4 at the table... More

I stayed at this hotel on Saturday night and had a reservation in the restaurant. There was a large wedding reception in a marquee in the grounds. The bedroom was incredibly hot with no air conditioning and the only means if cooling it down was to open the window, which I couldn't do as the room was only about 30... More

After reading many reviews, we booked an overnight stay and the medieval banquet at this hotel for our daughters 21st Birthday treat. I knew it would be good because of the hundreds of positive reviews but you have to see it for yourself to appreciate it. The grounds and hotel are absolutely stunning. The rooms were amazing and the medieval... More

This is a beautiful hotel to look at and whilst the medieval gloom works in the public areas, it is a complete pain in the bedrooms. I don't think I have ever been in a worse lit hotel room (108) .An added disadvantage was the absence of any heating at all in our bathroom. I don't know if this is... More

We visited for afternoon tea with carols as a Christmas present to my mother who invited two further guests. A faultless afternoon, food is very good indeed and with the addition of a choir singing carols the festive atmosphere was complete. As ever, very pleasant and attentive staff make any visit memorable.
