The room was shabby, in need of a good clean i.e mould in shower and on window frames, curtain hanging down, lights not working and knobs missing from drawers.
The bed was comfortable and there was always plenty of hot water

Lovely reception area and restaurant. Pleasant, helpful staff. Room a little old fashioned but clean and comfy apart from curtains which were FILTHY!! Huge stains on one with nasty bits sticking to them. Ugh!! I did report this when leaving.

Really sorry to say this but on the surface this looks really good but underneath really very old and in need of refurbishment. Full of building contractors on night shift etc! Very noisy mud everywhere. Room was very good I got the four poster bed!...More
Stayed here for 1 night on a business trip. It's like stepping back in time. The food is awful. No menu it's a carvery for £12.50, breakfast was terrible.
The hotel is desperately in need of a revamp.

Here for a wedding, booked an Executive Double Room that had a musty odour to it, very tired room with a double bed and a 80s style camp bed. We complained and they confirmed the room wasn't an executive double and we moved rooms.... exactly...More

For us, the issue was that they didn’t respond. We tried to resolve our problems direct but never got an acknowledgement, hence the negative but honest review. I have been told (cannot / have not verified) that Britannia Hotels take in a lot of asylum seekers but don’t know how that would affect their budget/finances.
