Genting Hotel has garnered appreciation for its clean, spacious rooms, though a few guests have noted an occasional unpleasant odor and dated decor. The hotel's overall cleanliness and professional staff are frequently commended, although the service can sometimes lack efficiency, particularly during breakfast. While some find the atmosphere could use more vibrancy, the quiet setting is often valued, especially for those attending events.
The array of amenities, including a spa and various dining options, adds to the hotel's appeal, despite some accessibility issues. Guests are divided on the value, with some finding the pricing reasonable and others pointing out high costs for basic services. The convenient location near the NEC and shopping areas is a highlight for many visitors.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay at a very well kept, clean and professional hotel. The room had an abundance of sockets and usb points, tools such as irons, and way always extremely well cleaned each day. The staff without exception were extremely helpful, often going beyond the call of duty when given unusual requests and were always positive and cheery when approached.. Highly recomended

My only small criticisum is that the room was a little tired, pillows need renewing, check in was great , room was spacious, breakfast was good quality, servers needed to be a bit more attentive
fantatic venue for the B Pulse Areana (NEC)
Reception very attentive
Car park facilties were graet as parked under the hotel ( small charge but worth it )
Will stay again

Going to start this review with why this hotel loses one mark. It would have been a couple but the hotel made it up in other parts. Firstly, my director and another colleague couldn’t arrive for the first night of a two night stay. They had informed the hotel prior, but despite this, on arrival for the 2nd day, their paid for rooms had been re-sold and no other rooms were available here or nearby, resulting in them having to travel back home. Not etiquette chaps and I’m sure you’ll hear more about this! Also, the Sky Bar. Great food and staff but turning the lights right down suddenly meant we were eating almost in the dark. We mentioned this to a server, but they weren’t turned up again. After the first draught beers arrived, we were told there would be no more available due to no “gas” at the bar. What?? Bad experiences out of the way, just wanted to say that the reception staff were brilliant (not their fault the rooms were sold again) and the rooms were bright, clean and perfectly chilled for me. Plenty of hot water in the morning and more importantly, the bed was comfortable, resulting in two great nights sleep, as usually I don’t sleep well when staying away. The buffet style breakfast was delicious with quality ingredients. Ah those sausages! Perfectly cooked and everything hot and fresh. Outstanding breakfast! The parking was easy and spacious which makes a refreshing change at such a busy hotel. At £20pn it’s not cheap but easily accessible via the main hotel lift. This hotel is very convenient for those attending or exhibiting at the NECC and definitely one of the better ones. Overall recommended.

Paid for a deluxe room as a treat to ourselves before going to an event. Only two English Tea teabags in the beverage tray supplemented with two Green Tea - who drinks green tea?! At the room price I would have expected more than two English tea teabags. Very stingy - hardly deluxe.
Called numerous times after 6pm to Room Service to order food but no one answered, even tried Reception too - no answer. Why offer room service if no one is going to answer the phone to take the order? Decided to buy evening from the event venue instead.
Very poor service for the £200 paid for one night’s stay.
Next time it’ll be the Premier Inn where you expect basic service.

We were very disappointed with this hotel - especially given what looked to be other great reviews. It didn’t start well when they refused to let my wife check into the hotel room because I want there with her. My flight was delayed, but her name was on the booking, she had the receipt and could give them her card details. Instead they made her message me so I could email them and say it OK - which is very odd indeed, and not what I needed as I was working my way through airport crowds. Eventually, they let her check in, and to say sorry for making her wait they offered to validate our parking. Of course, we found out upon leaving that this hadn’t worked, and we had to pay £20 at the barrier the next day.
The room was bigger than expected - which was great, and the bed comfortable. However, there was a musky smell of cleaned up sick in the room. The spa is in 90minute slots, and there are no bathrobes in the room (so it is not like the online photo where they are placed on the bed). The breakfast was excellent and so were the bar staff (in fact they were the highlight of the whole hotel experience).
Upon checking out, all was well, except the cues were long because people were arguing with the front desk about not getting what they had expected etc. So all in, this was not a comfortable experience, and it felt like a dated “spit and saw” dust location that had seen better days. We began the trip hopeful that it would be like the last time we stayed, but ended up vowing to never come back. A real shame.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback after your recent stay. We are truly sorry that your experience was not what you had expected and for this we would like to apologise. Please allow me to assure you that the safety and privacy of our guests is paramount and always at the forefront of our minds. I'm sure you will understand we have certain security procedures we have to follow when there is no indication that another party will be joining a guest named on the reservation. We are obligated to adhere to GDPR regulations whilst also ensuring that our guests receive the service and standards that they expect. It is pleasing that the team took it upon themselves to compensate your parking as a goodwill gesture on behalf of the hotel, there is also an intercom at the barrier to communicate with our team should the barrier fail to lift. Whilst it is pleasing to hear your kind words about your dining experiences and I am happy that you found the room of good size and comfortable, for any issues experienced with the room during your stay with us we do have our dedicated reception team on hand to assist. Please allow me to clear up any confusion in relation to the robes. Firstly we have them available as described in your review on arrival in our superior room type and above which may have been the image you are referring to. Alternatively these can be hired from the reception team at any time during your stay for £15 per robe. Where possible we try to encourage our guests to avoid peak check out times such as 11am to create a more staggered and seamless guest journey. I do hope this has helped shed a little light on those unanswered questions you may have had. It is dispiriting to hear that you do not wish to return to the hotel however should you afford us the opportunity please do let me know so that I personally can oversee the stay and make sure you receive the warmest of welcomes. Best wishes Cliff

Extremely dull and drab interior. A stale/smokey smell hit us as soon as we entered the room, bed was very comfy and the sheets were good quality, along with a very nice and clean bathroom. Staff were very welcoming, but the very long hallways and rooms all need a face lift, especially for the price per night I'd expect significantly more.

Lovely room and excellent location if attending an nec event. Reception staff were pleasant and efficient. Unfortunately the breakfast really let the hotel down. It is served in the sky bar which is a great location. The hostess was lovely and explained it is a buffet, both cooked and continental and the waiter will take our orders for tea and coffee and if we want a freshly cooked to order dish from the menu in the table. We found a table and waited for the waiter …and waited…and waited. Gave up waiting and helped ourselves to the buffet. The fruit and yogurt was lovely and fresh. The cooked breakfast was fine but the black pudding was dried out and disappointing. We ate our breakfasts still with no drinks even though we asked a waiter for tea and coffee. After asking a second time and having finished our breakfast a sullen waiter arrived with our tea and coffee with no apologies for the delay and although the tea was fine the coffee was rubbish. Children were running around the restaurant the whole time- not the hotel’s responsibility but from a safety point of view they should have asked the parents to control their children. Very disappointing end to our stay and won’t be returning.

Starting from the outside in, the hotel itself was quite difficult to find if you’re not from surrounding areas - both outside and inside resorts world. I paid £40 to upgrade our stay which meant we stayed in the vegas suite, this room was very spacious, modern and clean much like the rest of the hotel. Within our upgrade we also had breakfast included within the price, the breakfast featured pastries, cereals and a full English and a wide range of hot and cold drinks also. Parking was also included within the £40 upgrade which worked out better value for money because resorts world parking was £20 alone for parking. Genting hotel offers many luxury amenities such as an outdoor rooftop hot tub, the Sentai spa steam room and sauna and a very modern / up to date gym. Some of the staff were fairly attentive, prior to my stay I had requested a room with a bath, they were happy to cater even before our upgrade and they recommended local nearby restaurants. The location is far out from Birmingham city centre but everything you need is within reach. There’s a lot to do nearby - bowling, many restaurants and shopping. Whilst my experience with this hotel was majorly positive there were a few negatives which I’d like to highlight. • wait times for the pool were highly uncontrolled, there was no booking system or one in one out system, everybody was allowed to go in at once which made the area overly crowded, loud and hectic. • I was charged twice for my booking due to lack of communication amongst the staff, although they refunded me this was still something that caused a dampener on my trip • I had enquired about an earlier check in days prior to my trip and the morning of and they were not able to assist me, I asked if they could possibly get in touch with me if any changes to our room could be made, to which they refused, whilst I understand this may be this specific hotels policy I don’t think it’s fair to tell guests it’s their responsibility to check for an earlier check in All in all - this hotel is lovely just take the points into consideration before booking a stay as this hotel is definitely on the more pricier side.

As soon as walk into reception you are hit with a beautiful smell that instantly relaxes you, receptionists are always helpful and professional. Rooms are comfy and clean Plenty to then fit in resorts world with spa shopping and food Vietnamese a must try
Do think free parking would be a good shout for residents

We booked this Hotel for the Queen concert in Birmingham Town Centre. The Hotel is extremely easy to get to. Once there the parking is on the ground floor, Hotel reception, bars and restaurants, an IMAX and casino are on floors 1 and 2, bedrooms floors 3 and 4. Hotel bar and breakfast buffet on floor 5 together with top suites. The breakfast buffet was excellent and improved by sensible subtle decision by Hotel.....For example the staff will bring you fresh toast, eggs benedict, eggs Royale, coffee (no burnt toast smell). The staff were very hygenic and washed hands regularly. (I notice little things like that and appreciate it) You cannot hear the IMAX or restaurants when in room. Its very quiet. There is plenty of parking. A superior room includes free mini bar, (a beer, gin and tonic, whisky and coke, a vodka, 2 small sparkling wine bottles, twix, mars bar, crisps.) There is a Freeview tv in there a smallish window. The room is quiet. We used the gym and on Saturday afternoon was fairly quiet. We used the pool area, that was busy. A hen party was there and they ensured that nobody else would get a lookin at the jacuzzi area (limited to 6 at a time) There were others who took their phones in despite lots of signs saying dont. Not Hotels fault though. The place was clean and pleasant. The Hotel is situated an easy 10 minute walk to the NEC train station (5 to the NEC) Very little if any cars about. To be fair there was nothing happening at the NEC that day. The train is £6 return to Birmingham and takes 15 mins. A complete no brainer, If I was staying for something in Birmingham I would stay here. The staff are excellent. Particularly grateful to Jess who was fantastic and helped us greatly with the trains.
