A short stay - but a good one - all rooms are different and bathrooms are particularly good. Service was very good - although I did have to wait about 10 minutes to check in. My only complaint is that I was charged for bed and breakfast - but as I had to leave the hotel before 7am was not...

We booked for 1730 to get to a concert later. We explained our schedule to them and they said no problem. Despite being very quiet - 6 people customers in total, with four of them on duty in the restaurant, they then took ages to serve our drinks and each of our three courses. One hour and 15 minutes into...

The Mrs and I, since moving in together, have set about exploring the finer restaurants in Birmingham and having enjoyed many establishments so far, this one was very much a below average one purely based on the comparisons in the city (for the purpose of continuity in my reviews, this restaurant is the 14th 'fine dining' premises we have visited...

There were 7 of us for lunch and what a great place to have it. Great service and excellent beef what more could you want. We really enjoyed the space, the service and the food. Will visit again when next in Birmingham.

A strange hotel, having once been an Eye Hospital, but cleverly converted. A rather dull entrance is complemented by a very welcoming receptionist, always ready to assist. Our room was huge - about 30sqm plus - with extremely high ceilings. The bathroom was also very big and the walk in shower could take six ! No where to put shampoo...

Took advantage of the hotel's fabulous Sunday night offer of a room for £25 based on minimum spend of £75 in the bistro. Felt a real treat to have night away on a Sunday and we had a fabulous time. Great room - if I had anything to pick on it's that the rooms are quite dark and even in...

Booked afternoon tea at this hotel for a special birthday treat for my mother!! Myself and my five sisters surprised my mom by booking this!! On arrival we were seated in a draft opposite the bar. We asked if we could move and they agreed and we were moved into the bistro. We were served, between six of us, 3...

Spent one night at the hotel. Lovely staff and good central location although the surrounding area is a huge building site at present. The room (Taittinger) was quiet but had a bathroom up a steep flight of stairs. Excellent standalone shower which you get in the pricier rooms but cheap one ply toilet paper the supply of which was inadequate...

So we arrived an hour early and got a free parking spot outside the front of the hotel...BONUS!!! When we got into reception there was plenty of staff on reception to deal with guest enquiries. We where seen to straight away and to my surprise the room was ready and we where able to check in. It was a birthday...

I stayed in the third floor 'Chapel Down' room - cosy and warm with a fantastically firm mattress. Fantastic night's sleep too. The food here is really very good - you won't want to eat out if you're staying for a night. The gym is well served and the steam room packs a punch too. I'd rank this over the...
