I was a bit apprehensive about staying here after reading some of the reviews, but I found the stay ok. The location was easy to find and the hotel had a lift to the rooms which is always a bonus. The room was clean and the staff were lovely as well as the locals in the bar. The rooms are... More

On arrival, the bar was full of rowdy, drunk individuals who were rude to us as we walked in. This made me feel very uncomfortable!! When we go to the room, it was cold, there was a funny smell and after about an hour we left.

Booked 2 rooms because it was close to the stadium, although greeted well upon arrival (by the landlady I presume) everything that followed was disastrous. One of the rooms smelled so bad we had to move although were told we could only move for the one night. when we returned we were told we had to take our drinks to... More

As usual I am looking for reasonable priced hotel rooms in Birmingham I thought I had found a new one the pictures where all from inside should have know why. This is not a hotel it is a pub with rooms. No proper reception you have to wait in what once was another bar now empty and called a sitting... More

Booked this very very last minute as previous booking at Central Backpackers went pear shaped ( and glad it did cos it's a dump). Have to say pleasantly surprised by the Royal George. Room was good, clean and comfatable. The staff were very helpful too. For the money I paid can't fault it.

I booked two nights for a conference at the NEC. Choice was based on proximity to Adderley Park rail station for access to the NEC. The hotel is attached to a pub and although not an especially attractive area of Birmingham, it is about 15-20 minutes walk to Adderley Park station which is on the main route between Birmingham New... Our full English was absolutely perfect. We were able to order our evening meal in from a local take away and sat in the bar tucking into our food whilst chatting to regular contractors who quite obviously enjoyed their stay there. I thought it great value for money and good for a one night stay.

Booked this hotel based on the photos. The photo showing the canal and lovely restaurant don't exist or we certainly didn't see it at the hotel. We had Room 23 which was a family room. Thought it was nice and quiet and had an attached room for 2 children. All pretty clean (a couple of stains on bedding and carpet... More

Doesn't look anything like the pics on late rooms. It's rooms above a pub. Crumbs in the bed and stubble over the bathroom shelf/taps/sink upon arrival. Cracked tiles on bathroom floor. Shower hanging off the wall. Poor lighting. Water from cold tap was warm. Pub downstairs doesn't do food, sell red wine or have any wine glasses. 20 min walk... More
