Went to see Christmas markets and this is bang in the middle of it so perfect for it .Hotel is a bit dated but our room was lovely ,nice size and well laid out and the most comfortable beds ever , lot of building work outside but seriously couldn't hear a thing in our room which was right in front... Probably one of the worst hotels I have stayed at! Poorly signed considering the amount of roadworks going on which again we weren't told about prior to our stay. Car park full and was told they had a second car park on same road. After driving around in a circle 3 times, went back to reception where someone else told... More

Reception area was nice but carpet and décor in the corridors was in need of updating. The room was clean with a lovely large bed but there was no aircon. The bathroom was in need of refurbishment with the shower curtain having seen better days. Only 1 packet of biscuits and 2 teabags on the tea tray, there was plenty... More

I was here in November 2016 as part of the Worldskills UK IT Competition, The hotel is easily located by foot even with all the works going on in Birmingham centre. The hotel lobby and bar are ok looking ad the restaurant seemed ok as well. The room was a standard hotel room really, the bed was possibly the most... More

Stayed just the one night, be aware that there are significant roadworks near the hotel, check the hotel website for a postcode that will get you in through the roadworks. There is a single level of underground paid parking at the hotel and if full there is a multi-story car park almost next door. I found it to be a... More

The animated video playing in hotel lobby illustrates the phased transformation of the city centre and by 2019 the Copthorne will be demolished to make way for something new. Billions are being invested to regenerate the city. This puts the hotel in its context: the rooms are tired with the decor and fitted furniture dating back to the 80s. However,... More

Stayed here Saturday night as we were going to the classic spectacular at symphony hall. The location was fantastic a five minute walk to the hall and near to the main shops library etc, also the Christmas market will be situated on centenary square. The hotel staff were excellent, reception, lounge, bar and dining all to a good standard, value... More

Booked a room here last minute rather than getting a taxi back after a night out. Literally picked the cheapest hotel in brum. Was really worried as I read the reviews after booking and was genuinely concerned we would be staying in a complete dive so was pleasantly surprised to find it was actually ok. We phoned someone for directions... More

Booked a night here with my husband as we were both working in Birmingham for a couple of days in November. We arrived separately by car given working arrangements and both had a complete nightmare accessing the hotel car park due to the roadworks that seem to surround the entire hotel - admittedly not the hotel's fault, but the diversions...
