Me and my boyfriend went to the christmas markets in Birmingham for a few nights and we chose the Copthorne based on price. It was a very good desicion. Minutes walking distance from the markets, the main shopping areas (the bullring) and restaurants. Very friendly staff who always have a smile on their faces. Extremely handy room service, which doesn't...

One of my worst hotel stays in over 30 years of travel. The Hotel is completely cut off and enveloped by major building works on three sides. My checking was actually swift and moderately painless. When a came out of the lift my short journey to the room I was greeted with thread bare and worn carpets, noisy guests and...

The staff at reception were welcoming and helpful. The room and bathroom were sadly in need of updating the ceiling tiles in the room we stained and moldy, the bathroom was dated. Don't get me wrong the rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable, its just that everything has seen better days.

Booked this place for our wedding anniversary and I was so disappointed to say the least! Terrible rooms, dirty showers, breakfast in bed didn't arrive, poor service; no bar staff and really really old hotel in much need for renovation. So disappointed as was really expensive! There is also no proper parking- my car got blocked for hours...

Stayed in the hotel for several days in December 2016. It looked like the hotel knew better times and had not been refreshed since that time. The rooms are relatively small (I am talking about standard double) and, I would say, really "tired". Bathroom leaves the same appearance. Only good thing is more or less deep bath (in comparison with...

Right, let’s get the bad stuff out of the way first. This hotel is dated. It’s not dirty, it’s not unpleasant, but it is dated. It was probably quite the thing in its day, and in a quirky way I kinda liked it. Check in was quick and efficient, and a room swap was very swiftly carried out after I...

Dear Chris1922_13 Thank you for your time and feedback after your recent stay with us, it is appreciated. I would thank you also for your fair observations, we are not the newest hotel in Birmingham, but we do feel the food is good, the welcome warm and friendly and the prices are reasonable. Place is very tired, and as mentioned its in the middle of a building site. They should really bite the bullet now and knock it down and start again. Staff were friendly and the bed was good as we had a decent sleep. My recommendation would be to lower the prices and star rating as it currently stands, then people...

Dear SHoward72, Thank you for your time and feedback after your recent stay with us, we appreciate your time. The city centre of Birmingham is undergoing a transformation just now and unfortunately for the hotels, many are affected by these works. We do trust the end result for the city will be well worth it. I will be sure to...

Warm welcome at reception and at the bar . The rooms however are very dated and tired with 4gang extension leads screwed to the wall. Comfortable bed and the room was clean. Bar drink prices very expensive with 2 glasses of Pinot Grigio visiting £19.50 . Food in the restaurant well priced and very tasty although dessert is very average.
