This is a very difficult hotel to review. We have stayed here several times, different experience each time. As it happens, our last stay recently was the best. I think the experience mainly depends on which room you get. I get the impression the lower floors are better. We have had rooms previously on higher floors overlooking New St which...

I am absolutely horrified that I took up a discount special at this hotel. Arrived to be given a room on the 7th floor. Only to find that 7th and 8th floor are smoking ... its smells absolutely disgusting and all of the windows are open. Moved to the 6th floor ... the pics say it all.. half emptied dustbins,...

I've stayed here in years gone on my own. It served a purpose as a cheap place to lay my head after a night out. Recently stayed here with my family in two rooms for 3 nights and it really has gone down hill. Whilst it's clean and the beds aren't actually uncomfortable, the hotel seems like a throw back...

The reception staff & restaurant staff were friendly and helpful but the hotel itself is dirty and run down. There are 2 lifts but one of them was out of order. There are quite a few rooms over 9 floors, so the wait times for the lift were longer than normal. On one occasion I waited for 7 minutes (yes,...

I don't know where to start. Dingy, smelly, horrible. I've stayed in some bad hotels before but this rates as the worst I've ever stayed in. Avoid at all costs! If you happen to stay in room 825, beware the door doesn't lock!

a it run down and dated but in a perfect location and reasonable price!! couldn't really knock it! TV had no signal, beds were so so and there was a bit of noise for neighbours. We would 100% stay here again in fact we are actually looking at taking friends back. Clean, friendly, no messing attitude! Great for shopping and...

This hotel is disgusting, creepy and has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. seeing it from the street is off-putting due to its 'haunted hotel' look. when we entered we could tell this hotel was creepy and very outdated. the staff where worse! We were not welcomed and greeted by a smile. after booking the hotel months in advance...

This hotel was very disappointed it shows online what you see is not what you get. I thought Britannia chain would be ok throughout the uk but this one just terrible. Reception staff need customer training their attitude is just don't care and don't explain things properly. The hotel itself was very old fashion very dated worn out and dirty....
