Having stayed at the Britannia in Liverpool, which I enjoyed as a 'classic' hotel, I hadn't read reviews here until I checked in. The walkway in my pic is the only entrance and did indeed smell foul in the outer walkway. The website pics are quite misleading. I walked past twice before finding the actual entrance. The floor with the...

For a short stay in the city it is fine, the location is excellent. It is very close to the station and the city centre. The rooms are basic and not very big. The hotel is quite clean but the decor is aging and definitely needs a revamp. It can also get pretty busy.

I arrived at 9:30pm. Situated in a fantastic location. The receptionist was a bit brisk with her attitude when checking me in. The room was a bit dingy, but ok. The window was wide open, and there was a slight smell of cigarette smoke. I went to close the window, only finding that it wouldn’t shut - there was a...

The best part of my stay here was leaving the hotel front door in the morning....never to return. It was a short notice booking for work, I have stayed in a couple of Britannia hotel in the U K before and they were fine. So what is good.....not much....the location if you want to be in central Birmingham and the...

The Hotel felt like it was falling apart and was a dose house. Food broiled to death and the staff looking like the had been forced to work there. A badly run, disgusting hotel with stains and DNA on every surface, if i was in forensics i would love it. It seems the Britannia Hotel group are running down their...

Take the time to read the reviews before booking a hotel room! This place is grimy, dirty, and quite frankly disgusting. Carpet so manky in the room you would not want to walk on it. Lino on the bathroom floor with dirt engrained into the corners showing that it has not been cleaned in years. They could not even be...

Booked late as wanted Hotel in central location and this is without doubt one of the worst Hotels I have stayed in. The entrance (down an alley way) lets you know that it isn't going to be great and it doesn't improve inside. The staff were pleasent and the room despite being dated was very clean, otherwise wouldn't have stayed...

We stupidly didn't review the hotel as it was last minute. It's dated, which we didn't mind, but cleanliness was shocking! We got to the room to find the maid just leaving it and found a nail in the bed, so it clearly hadn't been changed and we could hear the guy next door having a conversation on his phone....

Extremely disappointed, photos do not match the rooms on the hotel website. Rooms have not seen a coat of paint since the opening. Paintwork flaking off the Windows, carpet extremely manky, worn away in places with holes and stains, so manky that you would not dare walk on the carpet without shoes. Lino in the bathroom that has not been...
