There are good things and less good things about the Birmingham backpackers. I stayed 2 nights while in the area for a conference, and the location isn't the most convenient but it's not bad either - it was hard to find at first (Googlemaps was not quite reliable in this instance) but once you figure out where you're going it's...

Stayed here for one night before local conference. Arrived late, easy check in. Comfy lounge with a mixmash of armchairs/ sofas, plenty for everyone. Free wifi in lounge area only. Sell drinks behind the reception, alcoholic and non alcoholic. Though No diet drinks to sell me! There are multiple blocks, my dorm was in seperate block from reception, easy to...

Great staff who are keen to assist with any need where possible. Clean welcoming hostel and would happily visit again. Hostel houses its own Bar and great common area which is a much need retreat from the English weather. The hostels Wifi was the best experienced on my trip. Bathrooms, toilets and rooms all very clean and Don't Smell Bassam,...

Me and my girlfriend stayed in this hostel after arriving in England. It is easy to get to from the airport as the bus station is close by. We also we are able to get into the city centre within 10 minutes. We stayed in a female six bed room and got there at night. The bed sheets felt like...

I stayed in the female 6-bed room for two nights. At the time I booked, hotel prices in Birmingham started at about £140 per night, so I decided to book here for £14 per night instead. If you are coming via Birmingham New Street station, the local info office there in the station is great, and they give you a...

Stayed 1 night with 4 friends. We booked the whole pod with 8 beds in so we didn't have to share with strangers. Cost us £25 each. Very friendly and helpful staff but the whole place is run down and the bedding was vile. Light didn't work in pod. Rooms in need of a major overhaul, everywhere needs re decorating....

Not impressed. I don't have massively high standards I've travelled, camped, roughed it but felt this place ranked pretty low. As a single female the hostel being down a dark quiet side street felt dodgy. Then to get to my room I had to leave the main building and go next door which made it feel less safe. I had...

The staff is very friendly and helpful. However the hostel is not very clean and quite smelly. The ventilation is not very good and that the facility is old. There is a very cosy common area. The kitchen is a bit small

The pros - the bed was very comfortable and had a curtain that you could draw over it, meaning no one was peeping in as they passed, which was a nice touch. The showers were clean and powerful, better than most hostels I've been in. The cons - Staff were a bit stand-offish and seemed to be more interested in...
