I stayed at this hotel on Monday night (25th May). The hotel has a welcoming ambience and is elegantly furnished and decorated. The decor marries well with the Victorian heritage of the building. I particularly liked the original works of art used throughout. My room was spacious and overlooked the gardens and the bed was one of the most comfortable...

We got married here in May (though we have dinned here too) and we couldn't have asked for anything more! Right from the start of viewing the hotel to checking out the day after our wedding I couldn't fault a thing. I am normally very picky about where we stay, the quality, cleanliness and service received is concerned but I...

Recently stayed over night with my husband and chrildren as we attended a wedding and we could not fault it. The suit was beautiful and very spacious. The variety at breakfast was great, the children loved it just as much as we did, which doesn't happen often. Could not recommend enough.

Charles was absolutely outstanding! The service we received was second to none. Food was to die for, but what made this visit special was undoubtedly was Charles and his attentiveness. Thank you so much JDH and thank you Charles! We will definitely be back! Xxx

This was my first time staying at the Jesmond Dene House and I came away very impressed. It is a unique property both in terms of the common areas of the house, the rooms, access to walking paths, and close proximity to the city. The rooms are a terrific balance of the old and modern upgrades. Highly recommended for either...

This fantastic hotel is only let down by its expensive prices. We stayed here for one night for a wedding at a special rate of £125 for a double room including breakfast. This discounted rate is the most its worth, I wouldn't want to pay the full rate. Check in was quite quick and very friendly, in fact all the...

We attended a wedding event recently and it was wonderful. Luxurious room, comfortable bed, very clean and with lovely touches such as fresh milk in the fridge, fresh fruit and water on the table. The garden for the photos was perfect. Staff were professional and friendly and could not do enough for us. Food was superb and the room for...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A grand house with contemporary style, a leafy setting near the heart of the city. Jesmond Dene House is neither a townhouse nor a country house hotel. It's simply 40 well-designed bedrooms and suites in a richly historic building offering understated luxury and rather good food. Overlooking the wooded valley of Jesmond Dene, the privately owned hotel guarantees peace, escapism and a refreshing change. Newcastle's city centre, however, is only a five-minute drive. The hotel recently received 4 red stars and the AA Hotel of the Year 2008-2009. ... more   less
