This was the end of our first day walking Hadrian's Wall, so it was nice to be met by a cheery face even though we were pretty grubby. The manager led us to a separate building and our clean, comfortable room. It was extremely quiet even with the very crowded pub nearby. We had dinner at the pub/brewery - standard...

We were walking Hadrian's Wall and the Keelman's Lodge is a very convenient place to stay although they could do with a sign pointing out where to go. Our room was a bit basic and the bed was small and not very comfortable. The quilt was incredibly heavy and I think they need some better bedding. Sleep is important when...

The Keelman are holding a very worthwhile event later this month (September)....a coffee morning in aid of an amazing nationwide charity....but when i mentioned in passing to a member of staff that on their 'notice/chalk board' that they had spelt Macmillan incorrectly (as they had put McMillan), i was told 'I'm not bothered"!!! (what an attitude!!)....such a shame when it's...

We stayed in the lodge here for five nights, it was situated amongst the trees raise the big lamp brewery. The rooms were immaculate and very well appointed, the beds were very comfortable. The staff were amazing couldn't do enough for us. We had the choice of continental or full English breakfast and there was so much great tasting food....

The Lodge provided all the facilities we needed and had very helpful and friendly staff. They did not skimp on biscuits, refreshments, or toiletries - we were given a huge stock for our one night stay. It was a lovely room and facilities with a comprehensive information folder. There was a bath and shower which were great with plenty of...

Although the address is Newcastle, it is nearer Prudhoe. The setting was very pleasant. The staff were incredible. Although the dining area outside was very busy, the staff still had the time to help us register and to see to the bikes. The bikes were safely stored. The staff were superb. The lodge was very clean, and looked out on...

Spent one night here in May, first night on Hadrian's Way (it changes to Hadrian's Wall Path just west of the The Keelman). Large, clean, and pleasant room in the Lodge and a fine meal in the pub with excellent beer--be sure to arrive before 9 pm for food, which I barely did after a late start on the walk....

Arrived here after our longest day's walk and after enjoying all our other stays we were looking forward to another gem. How disappointed we were. The room was shabby and not very clean. The bathroom was frankly disgusting; the toilet was broken and there was weeks of grime arond the taps, shower tap and the floor was not clean either....

Booked Sunday lunch for 330pm. The bar area was full and very busy. Had a short wait for a table. The restaurant looks used. Service was slow and we had to ask to be served. We had to clean the cutlery with serviette. These weren't dirty but probably lacked a finishing tablet in the dishwasher. Had to ask for more...
