Good Afternoon X6892JWgarym, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. Guest satisfaction is our top priority and I wish to apologise sincerely for our shortcomings on the occasion of your recent stay. We are very sorry to read that some aspects of the service you received didn't meet your expectations. At the time of writing, we are working with some temporary challenges around consistent staffing and supply chain issues which have come up due to the ongoing pandemic which means that on some occasions we haven't been able to meet our traditionally high standards and we do apologise that this has affected your stay. We are working with our hotel teams and external partners to ensure that this is resolved as soon as possible and we hope that we can welcome you back to Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels in the near future, and we very much hope you'll be able to return to a Leonardo or Jurys Inn hotel soon and we'll be able to start to improve your journey as a customer. Kind Regards Wendy Customer Experience Team

Location is convenient but hotel is beginning to look and feel a bit neglected. Staff are very thin on the ground. The ones that are there are trying hard but queues at reception and in the bar tell their own story.

Good Morning Andrew B, Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to review your stay. We are glad to read that you found the hotel’s location to be convenient. As you have no doubt become aware, the impact of the pandemic, the shortage of available staff, and faced with supply chain issues continues to present significant challenges for the hospitality industry. As a result of these factors, we still have an effect on staffing. We are constantly recruiting to ensure that we have the staff available to provide an excellent customer service to our customers. We very much hope you'll be able to return to a Leonardo or Jurys Inn hotel soon and we'll be able to start to improve your journey as a customer. Kind Regards Wendy Customer Experience Team

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in August. We were part of a group from Shearings. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the building was fairly modern. Access to the hotel entrance was quite difficult for a large coach but it was very sheltered being in the centre of the building. When we arrived the hotel manager came on the coach to greet us and provide us with room keys. There was no staff to help with off loading the luggage and we had to transport all cases to our rooms. Our party were situated on the 6th floor which meant we were away from all traffic noise. We had breakfast and evening meals and they were all good with a reasonable choice. There were 4 lifts so access to the room was good. In the evening there was no entertainment but there was plenty of room in the bar. All over the hotel there was a high standard of cleanliness. The hotel was located close to the railway station and there is a large multi story car-park opposite. It is just a short walk to the main shopping centre. As we departed the manager came onto the coach to thank us and to wish us a safe journey. All the staff were very helpful and pleasant We did not have the rooms cleaned during our stay and replacement of towels etc. had to be obtained from reception I have no reservations in recommending this hotel to anyone in the future

Having stayed here before a few years ago, I knew the location of this hotel was perfect for seeing a gig at the o2 Academy. We stayed for 2 nights on the 5th floor. The rooms themselves were no problem. Everything was clean and tidy. The rooms were not serviced during our stay - we put this down to the pandemic, but this could have been made known to us at check-in that the cleaning would not happen. At night, it can be noisy. Having stayed in Newcastle before, we expected this. However, right up until around 2am, all we heard was doors banging shut of neighbouring rooms. The door closers on the doors are far too tight and need adjusting so that the doors close quietly and slowly. I made a point of this when we checked out. The hair dryer also stopped working within 5 seconds of using it, so I made this known as well when checking out. However, it was a good stay and it's a good location. If the staff can fix the door closers, I am sure we would come back again.

Good Morning VodkaQueenNL, Thank you very much for taking the time to review your recent stay with us, we are pleased to read that you found the rooms to be clean and tidy, and our location to be good! Meanwhile, we are really sorry to hear that you had noisy guests in the room next to you. Due to our city centre location we are a popular hotel for people enjoying a night out. We do expect that our guests will show respect to other guests during their stays, however when this is not possible we do try our best to control the situation. Once reported we will attempt to speak with the customers causing the complaint in the hope that they will listen and be quieter. So please, feel free to contact the hotel reception in cases like these and they’ll do everything possible to resolve any issue that our guests might face! Thank you for the feedback in regards to the door closers. We've shared this with our maintenance team and we very much hope that we can welcome you back to Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels in the near future. Kind Regards, Melisa Customer Experience Team

We were on a shearings holiday so had read the reviews. Our first night was sleepless due to not being able to turn the radiater off in the bedroom. Couldn't leave the window open as we were opposite a bar. Reported issue to reception staff the next morning and was assured that it would get sorted while we were out for the day. On our return nothing had been done! However Jade came to our aid organised another room and helped us to move. Jade was also on duty in the evening and we noticed that the evening meal was served quickly and efficently. As other reviews have mentioned the rooms are dated and in need of repair towel rails missing shelves lose. The rooms were not servcied during our 4 night stay and there was no porterage either which was expected. I assume the excuse for this lack of service is put down to Covid. The food was fairly basic and as we were part of a coach party choice was very limited. The breakfast however was very good.

Good Afternoon Heather522012, Thank you very much for staying with us and for leaving a review. We are pleased to read positive feedback about the staff, and that you found the breakfast great. At the moment, for guests staying more than one night, we do not offer a standard stayover housekeeping service. Upon request we are happy to provide additional linen, towels & toiletries which will be delivered to your door the following morning. This approach supports the Laundry Association guidelines and recommendations, which in turn helps manage supply logistics & shortages. We very much hope you'll be able to return to a Leonardo or Jurys Inn hotel soon and we'll be able to start to improve your journey as a customer. Kind Regards Wendy Customer Experience Team
