Not sure why everyone slates this place so much. I stayed here the other week when I came up to watch the football and it was fine. It's about a 15 min walk to st James park / the city centre. It's exactly what you would expect for the money. The staff were friendly and even when we walked back... More

OK, I have to admit, a friend booked this without first looking at reviews so we were very worried on our way to Newcastle, however we shouldn't have been. On arrival, the area is perfectly fine, yes it's opposite a mosque and next to an off licence as some reviews have said, but it doesn't make it a bad area.... More

We are a travelling band and booked this hotel because it was cheap. We were pleasantly surprised with everything for the price. Large, clean room. Comfy beds. Nice amount of plug sockets in room, free wifi, good shower. Friendly, helpful staff booked us a taxi with no problems. Nice place.

I booked the hotel for one night on the weekend, just because it was the cheapest I could get in a short notice at that time (and, frankly, it wasn't particularly cheap). I got what I wanted - a single room with a comfy bed. Nothing else fit in a tiny room and in fact I didn't need anything else... More

I'd recommend this place if you wish to stitch somebody up. You'll not find anywhere better! Not one positive about this place. The building is old and falling apart, the rooms are just put together as cheap as possible, the doors are paper thin and the locks are them brass style toilet locks 😂😂😂 The area's run down and rough.... You can't comprehend just how bad this place is. I've stayed in some rough hovels on stag do's in my time but this place takes the biscuit. we pulled up at the hotel in a rough council estate in Newcastle directly opposite a mosque and were greeted firstly by a local wino holding a can of special brew asking if... We stayed at this hotel for magic weekend (rugby league) and to be honest we weren't expecting much (looking at the previous bad reviews). However upon our arrival we were met by accommodating reception staff who were more than happy to recommend places, book taxis etc. The room itself had basic amenities, and was clean. We had an ensuite which... More

I booked a room for my parents this weekend at this "hotel" and from the very beginning it was really disappointed. The room was tiny and dirty. Handles didn't work in the bathroom so 0 privacy because it was a share bathroom although I booked an individual one. When we left the hotel nobody was there to give my deposit... More

Wasn't sure what to expect as this was the only place available on a Rugby World Cup weekend and some of the reviews were really bad. We were pleasantly surprised- our 4 bedded room, although very basic, was spotlessly clean as was the shared bathroom. The place smelled of fresh paint when we arrived and the man on the desk... Cant fault the hotel at all, room was very clean, man on reception was friendly! Liked having our own bathroom, not having to share! Only downfall was no kettle, tea or coffee! Nearest place to get a brew is at a garage which isn't near to the hotel. Taxi was £5 into town, which could of easily been walked but... More
