I stayed at this hotel to be near the General Hospital while my husband was a patient. The owners could not have been more helpful or accomodating, it was a great comfort at a time when I was under a lot of stress and needed things to be simple. The hotel is in a lovely old building and has been...

Lovely little hotel not far from the city center in a quiet part of town, I was able to walk in about 15 minutes or take a 5 minute bus ride that runs regularly. People who run it are super nice and very happy to help advise about what there is to do in the area. Very clean and warm...

Unfortunately i made the mistake of staying at the grainger hotel the night before as i arrived at 1am. I have writtena seperate review for this - avoid at all...

I stayed for three nights over christmas with my wife and daughter in a family room and found the hotel and owners to be very good and obliging. With easy and quick access to the town centre and A1 it was ideally situated for us.

Have stayed several times in the last 5 years, I find it worth returning to, although the size and standards of the rooms varies a little. Quiet location, so sleep not disturbed, beds always found to be clean and comfortable. Plenty of tea n coffee making stuff in rooms, which are attractive and warm. The adequate car park is a...

Car park on site provided, Its a little too far to walk to the centre but the bus service is very cheap and frequent. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast very tasty....

+ Very quiet + Helpful staff - When booking, it was not made clear that standard rooms had shared bathrooms - Breakfast only between 8 and 9 am, even on Sundays. The time could not be extended even after asking in advance. - Bad location unless you have a car - Dirty bathtub in bathroom, cracks in walls and overall...

This is a lovely hotel. Wonderfully friendly owners and bags of charachter. The rooms are dressed in accordance to the period of the property which is lovely. The room I was in had a very nice period three piece suite and antique wardrobe. The whole hotel has been beautifully furnished with a lot of thought, time and money. I think...

Lovely family run hotel in a quiet location with good parking and easy access to the city centre by bus or taxi. Good selection of books and tourist information leaflets. Excellent cooked breakfast and friendly staff. A bar if you fancy a nightcap. Great for couples / friends or families. The only thing we could fault was the slow shower....

Clifton House is a large Victorian property in Grainger Park. It provided all that we wanted - a comfortable room, attentive and friendly service from the proprietor and her staff, and a good cooked breakfast. Guests leaving before normal breakfast-time are served friendly. The room is bright and clean, fresh towels dayly. The first time in Newcastle the owners gave...
