Have been staying here regularly for almost three years and the hotel continues to show improvement over time. The reception staff who used to be quite unfriendly are now very welcoming and the breakfast staff have also been sorted out and now offer good and efficient service. The range of breakfast food available is excellent but management need to keep...

We used the restaurant of this hotel to celebrate our daughter's birthday. My wife and I together with our daughter, husband and their four year old daughter enjoyed an excellent lunch which was served by very attentive and professional staff. The decor of the restaurant was very modern and was complimented by the views over the river Tyne and quayside....

We stay in Newcastle reasonably often and are always looking for overnight deals. Just wanted to say that we've yet to find anywhere in Newcastle that matches Malmaison for overall quality. It isn't cheap, it doesn't want to be, but it is good value on all levels. The highlight is the restaurant where we took. Dinner off the set menu,...

We stayed at the Malmaison, which I would highly recommend, the location was perfect, not in the city Centre but not on the outskirts, walking distance to everywhere. The staff, friendly and spot on with everything. The room was perfect and very very clean and the food in the restaurant was very very good. The cocktails are just as good....

Well what can I say? I love this place. I visit newcastle often to meet up with my old uni friends and always opt to stay here. The hotel itself is situated right on the quayside so the views are magnificent.!! The rooms themselves are stunning, the theme throughout the hotel is one which is dark furniture and dim lighting...

Me and my fiancé stayed here last night in one of the double bridge view rooms. The room was very spacious with a full stocked mini bar and snack bar. The bed was extremely comfortable and the view was amazing, we could see right down the river. There was an ironing board, tea and coffee facilities, wine glasses, bottle opener,...

SHAMEFUL customer services on the part of Malmaison Newcastle ! Had a 1 night reservation through booking.com, non-refundable £129. Through cancellation of event I asked if we could change date of stay knowing fine well that refund was not possible. Booking.com fine with it but hotel, despite having vacancies for alternative date REFUSED to amend. Not the ideal way to...

January pricing was low. I paid £114 for superior room with river view. No traffic noise and curtains were beautifully heavy so room was dark as midnight. Bed perfect, bathroom good although shower over bath is a bit dated. Bar and service were of a high standard. This is a really nice place to stay.

Stayed there from Sunday 15th January to Monday 16th. Room was a "superior room" was nothing superior about it. Stayed in a premier Inn many times and it was no better than that. Lighting in room is awful! Specially in the bathroom room, room is quite small also. Had a drink in the bar down stairs and the were staff...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fog on the Tyne? Let's hope not. Otherwise you'll miss the great view of the Tyne Bridge you get from our hotel in Newcastle city centre. But then, when you're staying at Malmaison Newcastle, it's the views on the inside that tell you your boat's come in. While you're right at the heart of Newcastle's great shops and exciting nightlife, the lure of MALBAR's legendary cocktails and the Mal Brasserie's classic dishes with a twist is pretty strong. And who wants to spend all night out on the town when one hotel in Newcastle has a whole floor with a shipbuilding theme and bathtubs you could sink a battleship in? It could only be the Newcastle Mal. ... more   less
