The hotel has a great location and is close to plenty of amenities. The room however was pretty tired and the TV had a huge cable and battery hanging down from it. The attention to detail just wasn't there, however the room was comfortable enough. I feel that if the hotel was refurbished and brightened up it would be a...

We spent two nights during the easter holidays. The stay was fine, the room small but clean, the bathroom a little old-fashion and the bath leaked a lot of water through the bath screen. At the end of our stay we had a problem as I forgot and left my sunglasses in the room and when I realised I hadn't...

Lovely budget hotel situated on the quayside, lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Friendly and helpfull staff. Great retro cafe next door that provides the breakfast. Clean and comfortable beds but carpets needs changing throughout.

Stayed for one night, plus points are location, friendly staff, cheap parking, comfy bed and decent shower. Negatives are.... Dated decor, dirty net curtain which was almost falling down, mark on wall where the full length mirror used to be!!! Overall the hotel needs completely refurbishing. Next time we'll choose the Premier Inn.

My wife and I stayed here for one night in Oct 2016. The desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel corridors etc really felt like we had stepped back to 1978. That is not a bad thing at all - just an impression we both had. Breakfast upstairs in the morning was delicious and the staff were again...

This hotel is superb value for money. The room was large, with a wonderful view of bridges. The location is great, with many nearby restaurants. Everything worked well, for example the wifi was fast. The bathroom had a large bathtub. The staff were very friendly and helpful. An item left in the room on departure was found and returned.

No staff on reception when we tried to check in, NO bell to ring, we waited almost 10 minutes before someone came, this happened again when we came back after being out for the day on Saturday, as you must hand your key in when you go out !! its an actual key, not "modern" style key-card. We had a...

I have reviewed this as 5 stars because of the staff. From the minute we ariived they were all friendly, knowlegable and efficient. However once we checked in to the rooms it does go downhill! The rooms are dated and nothing seems to have been done to them for the last 5 years! Patched carpets, badly wired heaters, dodgy sash...

Situated on Newcastle’s famous and picturesque Quayside and just an 8 minute walk to the city centre. The hotel occupies a handsome Grade II listed building steeped in history and includes free Wi-Fi, parking and the funky and lively late night bar "Jimmyz" open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays . The city centre plays host to an excellent choice of shopping and also plays host to the Theatre Royal, which brings in talents such as opera North and The Royal Shakespeare Company. The bar is located on the ground level or if it’s dancing you prefer, then look no further than Sea nightclub. The hotel aims to go that extra mile to ensure you have a wonderful stay. Each bedroom has a unique style; the layout of the hotel lends itself to well-appointed rooms with the privacy and intimacy of a boutique hotel. Rooms offer all modern facilities guests would expect plus some rooms have extras such as plasma screen TV and DVD player and air conditioning. At the Waterside staff believe it is important to start the day right with a delicious freshly cooked Full English Breakfast or tasty Continental Breakfast which is served every day from 7:00am – 10:00am Monday – Friday and 8:30am – 10:30am Saturday and Sunday. Although the hotel doesn’t serve lunch or evening meals the immediate area boasts an excellent range of restaurants and cafes in which to enjoy any variety of meal. The famous Jimmyz Bar has been a landmark venue in Newcastle since the major re-development of the Quayside in the early 90’s. The bar has recently had a makeover of its own and this opulent cosmopolitan venue now boasts an extensive cocktail list and the sort of hospitality which makes Newcastle a popular choice.Newcastle and the wider area is made up of a diverse variety of towns, cities, coast and countryside offering a huge selection of things to do whatever your tastes. From relaxing at the coast to soaking up world-class culture in the city centres, from getting back in-touch with nature at a woodland retreat to shopping at Europe’s largest indoor shopping and leisure complex, (Metrocentre).
