Just exactly that...a Travelodge in a big city, cheap, basic, clean. Staff great, especially Sara and the rest of the crew on breakfast, they were run off their feet but always attentive, sorted out kids' picky breakfast choices, nothing was a bother. Give them a raise Travelodge, because it's folk like that who make a hotel, not the clean rooms.

This travel lodge is in a great location. Cheap overnight parking. Toms are clean and comfortable and very reasonably priced. We have stayed here before and will again. We were at the front of hotel and there was some noise with traffic etc in the morning. Only fault with this stay was no soap in the shower dispenser.

Stayed at this hotel on a Friday night in March and was an enjoyable stay. Check in was very smooth and had a room on the 5th floor which you have to access by stairs as the lift only goes as far as the 4th floor. Rooms are very comfortable and have good facilities. The hotel also has a nice...

This was our final stop after finishing Hadrian's Wall. It was so good to have finished and to get to the hotel. We were on the top floor. Room 113. It had a few stains on the shower floor, the sink, walls and was dusty. However, we had a great night sleep. Large comfy room. Really friendly staff and they...

Second time I have stopped here and on next visit it's very likely I will stay for a third time, busy hotel but a great location, right down by the quayside and roughly a ten minute amble up into the main central area, ten min tops walk from train station, it does have a lot of hen and stag parties...

The room was clean but basic and beds were really comfortable . No extras like I'm used to such as toiletries and hairdryer. There were hairdryers available at front desk however we just didn't mention it until we were leaving. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we're happy to help out with where to go for shopping etc.

Staff we're all lovely and very helpful. Would definitely recommend to anyone that is going to Newcastle for a weekend, was very busy with Stag and Hen parties, so maybe not ideal for families with small children, Location is good as it's quite close to all the bars on the quayside.
