Staybridge Suites Newcastle garners praise for its central location, deemed convenient by guests for exploring the city, even if an isolated opinion suggests otherwise. The hotel's rooms, celebrated for their comfort and comprehensive kitchen amenities, contribute to the property's appeal, although a few visitors mentioned temperature and maintenance issues. Guests are particularly impressed with the cleanliness and modern style that enhance the hotel's atmosphere, while the friendly staff receives accolades for their exceptional service. While the value is generally appreciated, some travelers noted additional costs like parking as a drawback.

With a daughter at the university here, we have become regulars for family drop off and pick up. We try to stay at The Staybridge Suites whenever possible; it’s wonderfully comfortable, decently priced, conveniently located and with an outstanding staff who make it a real home from home.

Our recent stay was excellent, as always. From the ‘welcome back’ on our arrival to the moment we left, we felt incredibly well cared for. A particular vote of thanks must go to Jason and Stephanie who solved a tricky problem for us, truly going the extra mile with kindness and helpfulness. They are a credit to the hotel, which must be delighted to have such professional staff.

It’s very easy to run out of superlatives when reviewing this property and we are eagerly anticipating our next visit in August! Thank you again.

First time staying at staybridge suites and booked the hotel using employee rate as I work for another IHG hotel. Upon check in we were greeted by a lovely lady who distributed our key cards and asked our plans for the weekend in which we replied that it was our anniversary. When checking into our room we only had a shower, so rang reception to ask if there was another room available with a bath. Shortly after, a lovely guy named Jason knocked on the door and said he had another room available if we’d like to view it. The room was amazing and had a bath in which Jason explained that there is usually a £20 charge for the room upgrade, however he’d give us it free as I work for IHG and it was our anniversary. This just made the whole weekend, and I cannot thank him enough for this! The breakfast was delicious and every staff member we came across throughout our stay were so friendly and talkative, wishing us a good evening, talking about our plans and how our night had been. The whole weekend was fabulous and I cannot recommend this hotel enough! All team members deserve appraisal, thank you for an amazing weekend!

Great location.
Newly re-furbished room was very quiet with huge, comfortable bed. Kitchen within the studio room was ideal for staying in for an evening, with integrated dishwasher for ultimate self catering convenience.
Buffet breakfast well stocked. Guests on a nearby table were given excellent service to accommodate gluten free and dairy free needs.
24 hour self service tea, coffee and water was made EVEN better with two machines - one offering all the range of latte, espresso etc without caffeine for evening drinks!

Shhh! Don’t tell everyone but this place is fabulous! We stayed here Monday to Friday this week and from the get go, the place was super friendly, sparkling clean and such good value. The staff were great fun especially the reception staff, very personable manners and nothing was too much botha! I’m just sorry I didn’t get any names but the staff in reception during this week will know that they are the superstars of this hotel!
We had breakfast and it was still very Covid safe and efficient, very reassuring. There was plenty of seating and all was simply brilliant!
On Monday,Tuesday and weds, there is served, at this fabulous establishment, for one hour only… fine wine and lager (well it was fine to me! ) and tapas style nibbles for the peckish..honestly..it was enough to tide us over til the morning! There is sparkling and still water on tap and 24 hour access to the coffee machines..there are 2..one for normal coffee and the other for decaf-at the touch of a button, you can have hot chocolate, cafe au lait, mocha, lattes galore! Like the coffee genie..your wish is their command!
The house keeping was spot on and super attentive-our room 307 was spotlessly cleaned every day and fresh towels put in when we wanted. I had utter ‘Covid confidence’ in the cleaning here…well done!
We didn’t use the TV or the facilities in the room but there is everything you could need. Our room was super quiet too, a must for us light sleepers…
The quay side location was great…take your pick of quayside pubs and eateries…plenty to keep the tourists and passer boys occupied.
IF I has one gripe it would be the state of the nearby street (by the Dadyal) very run down and litter strewn , it lets the place down TBH. BUT I appreciate this is not the hotels doing …it’s just an observation and I think I’d send the staff to litter pick it as it is the only thing that lets the side down on this amazing place.
This is our 3rd visit here and won’t be our last, I can’t believe we’d forgotten how fabulous it was and still is!

Staff were, without exception, friendly, accommodating and courteous.
The room was well appointed, had everything we needed and the blackout curtains blocked light very effectively.

Breakfast was plentiful with good selection and staff worked diligently to make sure it was stocked up and that tables were cleared. I was disgusted at the guests who clearly think it beneath them to place used tableware on a trolley to help keep things moving. All credit to the staff who were pleasant and professional even to some very obnoxious customers.

The hotel is ideally located for walking to the Quayside and within 5 minutes of numerous restaurants.

The car park had plenty free spaces although some drivers were finding it a little difficult to park between vans and pick ups which were slightly bigger than the spaces so sticking out awkwardly.

Will happily return here in the future.

Solo traveller in a king suite. Reception were amazing, friendly and efficient. Good Covid19 precautions in place. Whole Reception area is spotless and tastefully decorated. My suite was clean, functional and had a kitchenette with plenty of utensils. Kitchen towel roll thoughtfully provided for spills as well as tea coffee milk and sugar. Bee Kind hand lotion body wash provided in the modern bathroom with walk in shower. Breakfast is included and there are cereals, hot food with scrambled eggs, bacon 🥓 beans and sausages, you can also get fruit and yoghurt and there is ample tea and coffee and fruit juices. Tea coffee and still and sparkling water is complimentary, you can take your breakfast tray up to your room if you wish. Security is excellent and Reception will call a taxi 🚕 for you should you wish. All in all a highly enjoyable stay and I would definitely recommend. Well done Staybridge Newcastle 👌. You are 5 minutes walk from the Quayside and about 10 to 15 minutes from the city centre

Everything was perfect from start to finish. Fab location for quayside attractions, great parking included which you keep even on day of departure, the room was spotless snd well equipped - next time we’ll come for longer and maybe bring a simple tea as there it enough kit to make it easy to do so. The breakfast was outstanding, the make your own fresh waffles were great, good cooked option but we enjoyed cereals, pain au chocs, fruit, juice, toast and waffles to really set us up for the day. 12pm checkout a total bonus too, staff were incredibly friendly, Jason in particular was very kind and helpful and went above and beyond, thank you for a great stay.

A really nice apartment block. It says 20 min walk from the station more like 10 to 15 but I do walk at a pace. Very easy to get to turn right out of the station and walk as if going to Miller and Carter you will pass the purple peacock and the antler bars then it's about a 3 min walk and it's on your left. Greated by very friendly staff and a very clean and modern reception bar eating area. The rooms are designed for people staying for a period of time and well kitted out. Monday to Wednesday from 1830 to 1930 there is free wine and cheese gathering. A very nice selection of cheeses and picky bits and a choice of red or white wine and beer. There is a hot and cold breakfast but no other facilities for evening meals or drinks. This is why I only gave a four. Not the fault of the site the person who booked this did not read this "small print" as I said this is designed for people who are working away for a period of time and self cater.
When we like to meet up we like to either eat in and then have a beer and catch up or go out then come back for a drink and chat.
But dont get me wrong its minutes back into the centre so all good.
If I was stopping in Newcastle for a period if time and stop here it would be 5 out of 5. All the staff were great the food fresh and alot c it.
There is also a laundry and gym on site
Thanks to all the staff

We returned to Newcastle for my 76th birthday choosing to stay at the Staybridge Suite at the Quayside. We crossed into Newcastle via the iconic Tyne Bridge without a traffic cone in sight and found our way to the Staybridge without any problems.

The staff were very welcoming and provided us with the two keycards and wifi information in a very short time. Our room was on the first floor so we didn't need to wait for a lift to become available. The suite was very well equipped and the large double bed turned out to be very comfortable. As the suite had recently been updated everything was new and fresh with a large samsung TV providing the entertainment. The suite was well equipped with microwave, dishwasher, ironing board and iron, glassware, crockery and cutlery. In short everything you could possible want during your visit.

Although the Hotel doen't have a bar, everyone is invited to attend a social event between 18:30 and 19:30 where drinks and nibbles are provided with charge! A very pleasant way to meet your fellow guests and one I've never experienced before (except in all inclusive hotels).

Breakfast the next morning was everything you could wish for if not a little basic. Both continental and British fare was provided with plenty of choice in both food and drink. The Staff had discovered it was my birthday (obviously not a secret) and were kind enough to provide a bottle of wine to celebrate with and a card wishing me "Many Happy Returns", a much appreciated touch.

The only fly in the ointment was being wakened at 05:50ish when the fire alarm went off. The evacuation of the hotel was handled efficiently and we were able to re-enter the hotel as soon as the faulty dishwasher had been removed from the Kitchen and the Fire Brigade were satisfied that there were no more hazards present.

To sum up, a different approach to hospitality for me and one I can heartily recommend. The hotel's location at the Quayside puts you within easy walking distance of most of the Toon's tourist attractions so you will find it is a good base of operations for a visit to this vibrant city.

The hotel is fantastic, the rooms are well equipped and the staff are friendly. The hotel itself is a little walk from Newcastle station or a 5 minute taxi ride.

The rooms are perfect, good size and well stocked with everything needed.

The snacks and drinks in the evening are a really nice touch and the breakfast is excellent (along with the free coffee)

The only negative is the pantry, I bought a toothbrush and 4 bottles of beer that would have cost £5 in a supermarket and ended up paying £16 but I’ll just buy before next time.

Will definitely be staying again!

Thank you for your kind review and I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry you found the Pantry expensive, we do try to keep the prices as low as we can (and certainly much lower than normal hotel pricing), however we have to purchase the items in a smaller quantity than a supermarket as a convenience to guests so it is slightly more expensive. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention though, we can certainly review this.
