Nestled in a prime location near the high street, the Premier Inn Newmarket hotel is a hit with guests for its peaceful setting and convenient parking. The ambiance is appreciated for its dark, noise-free rooms, which offer a bright and airy feel during daytime hours.
While the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms earn high marks, opinions on value and amenities vary, with some concerns over noise and additional charges. Staff members receive accolades for their professionalism and friendliness, although occasional slow service is noted.

arrived with company 5 rooms booked room was only ready if £10 charge paid. unfortunately we had to pay £10 for one of the rooms to enable people to freshen up after a 4.5 hr drive. even at 2:59 a charge applied think this is harsh... also the rooms were only cleaned and as we were staying 3 nights i would at least expect clean towels daily also you should be asked on arrival if you require room cleaned.

Hotel's Favourite
Stayed here for a couple of nights as we were attending a family funeral in the area. The check in was smooth and the receptionist was welcoming friendly and helped me sort the car parking RingGo app as I didn’t manage to get a reserved space in the car park. Sorting the app was a bit stressful after a 5 hour drive as my phone was playing up but the receptionist was patient and helped me so I was very grateful for this.
The rooms were clean and comfortable and had everything we needed.
We had breakfast on both mornings and we were served by Dermot who was kind and attentive food was plentiful and the cooked breakfast doing to order which was lovely.
We drank in the bar both evenings and the car staff were also very welcoming
Thank you for making the stay enjoyable despite the circumstances and if we are ever in the area again we would definitely stay here and would recommend to others.

Nice hotel for a night away with work, clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was superb and freshly made!
Bed comfortable and room quiet. Nice bar downstairs.
Get there early for a parking space as it’s very limited. Across the road it’s in the short stay car park level 2 for the premier inn parking.
Please can premier inn stop providing those little tiny squares of toilet paper… provide proper toilet rolls, it’s really frustrating.
After last orders we were swiftly asked to go to our rooms despite just ordering a drink. I suggest they allow you sit in the bar for at least 30 minutes after final ring of the bell.

First time in premier plus room, the best part was the rainfall standalone shower but the difference between the standard and premier plus does not equate to the cost difference taking into consideration the extras was extremly limited.
Room caked with dust, limited teabags and milk for 2 people, a lot more attention to detail when you are paying so much more and shoudl be available for standard offering.
Upon arrival had to wait considerable time to book in and eat at the hotel restaurant, service very poor , selection poor and had to wait ages to be served. If you are paying high prices at least have the service & quality to match. Toilet Roll in Bathroom like paper £1 Deal ?

My room had a completely blocked sink in the bathroom. The ladies from hotel reception tried to clear it with a plunger but succeeded only in filling the sink with ugly black gunge. The hotel was full so they couldn't give me another room. Management must have known the sink was blocked; a previous guest or whoever made up the room must have reported it. How is it possible that the room wasn't taken out of service? Truly horrible. I paid £108 for the room but customer relations were prepared to repay only £40 of that. A case study in making a frequent customer unhappy and likely to book anywhere but Premier Inn

We stay here twice a year for the Guineas and Cambridgeshire meetings and we always enjoy our stay.
Yes you have to book a year in advance and yes they do cheekily increase their prices at race meeting weekends but that’s just something we have come to expect.
The rooms are typical Premier Inn and do their job, the staff are always friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant is extremely reasonable and tasty and of course the breakfast is top notch.
Only 4 stars due to the cheeky price increase and latest £10 early booking in fee!

Check in was speedy. Location was fine as we were due to meet family in the area the next day. Room 118 was a corner room with a balcony that had no access to. Meant little privacy in both sets of windows of the room (one to the left was some sort of office block that could see straight through the room, the patio looked directly across to the cars and traffic and Waitrose). Chocolate wrappers under the bed on arrival. Generally dated hotel and did not feel clean (dust gathered in the corners of the room). Noisy due to facing the Main Street. Temperature in the room was hard to navigate and made dripping sounds. Car park situation was not ideal as you park in the Guineas car park and limited number of available free bays for hotel guests. Luckily we were out for dinner otherwise would have had to pay to park whilst we checked in. It did mean that overnight, as the limited bays weren’t available, we had to park in the non-secured car park. Youths hanging around in the car park throwing bottles. Had to move the car early in the morning to avoid being charged/wait for other guests to check out. Single slices of toilet paper being dispensed in the rooms also a questionable choice.

Our stay was special as it was the first time we had booked a Premier Plus room and we certainly wasn’t disappointed. The check in staff we very friendly and helpful - absolutely couldn’t be faulted. The proximity of the hotel to the Town Centre was such a pleasant surprise as I have mobility issues whereby I find it difficult to walk too far and the parking is directly opposite the hotel with allocated spaces on a first come first served basis. We will definitely be returning some time soon.

We arrived at 2.56 p.m. after travelling 70 miles to be told checking in now would cost us £10 extra per room as it was before 3 p.m. The receptionist was very apologetic but was unable to do anything. We were told they had several complaints about this rule. I could understand if we arrived 2 hours early. Whoever came up with this idea from Whitbread/Premier Inn needs to take a serious look at themselves or they will lose customers rapidly. The stay at the hotel was no problem but with this issue does not start the stay well.

I've stayed in numerous Premier Inns and usually find them to be consistently good. There were a couple of major issues with this particular hotel. Firstly, the room smelled horrendous. I think it was situated above the restaurant, which could explain the absolutely foul smell of stale cooking that was present.
The biggest issue, however, is the parking and I'd urge anyone needing to park to seriously consider staying at this hotel. I was aware that parking was available in a shopping centre car park. I was also aware that there were only 28 spaces and if these were all full I'd need to pay to park.
I arrived at around 11pm. The sign that Premier Inn puts out during the day was missing so I pulled into what I assumed was the correct car park. It was in complete darkness and some of the entrances were shut. I followed a sign to hotel parking and found a shut gate marked "out". This opened when I approached it at least. There was no parking on the second floor so I followed the directions to the 4th/5th floor. Again, everything was in darkness and I couldn't even see that parking was actually free until 8am. Eventually I managed to pay until 6pm the following day. Because everything was in darkness I even struggled to find a pedestrian exit. When I did, I went through the wrong door and ended up on the ground floor, again in complete darkness, and unable to get out because it was all locked up. Thankfully when I went back up to the third floor someone returning to their car directed me to the correct pedestrian exit.
I was a lone female in an unfamiliar, dark, car park late ar night. Premier Inn need to make it very, very clear how to exit the car park. The intercom for the hotel in the car park wasn't working. I appreciate that the car park is a third party but if the hotel is going to use it, they need to ensure guests feel safe, which I did not.
Breakfast was absolutely fine, and the comfort of the room (barring the revolting smell) was also find but I will never stay here again due to the parking situation.
