Very friendly staff, waitress service was excellent, good local ingredients make superb meals, for listed building the rooms are exceptional. Only thing I could say was lack of local beers. Oh and the terrible wet weather.

We enjoyed our stay at The Black Lion. We had a few issues with our room which we highlighted to the Manager. The rooms are a little bit tired and in need of some tlc, however we did enjoy our stay and the food was excellent. We would stay again and it would be interesting to see if some of...

A delightful hotel in a beautiful village. We were welcomed warmly and our room. Juliana, was perfect. spacious and very comfortable. We enjoyed our breakfast and dined for both nights in the restaurant which did not disappoint. The food was amazing especially the Saddle of Rabbit and the Salted Caramei Panacoota with Candy Floss. Just wish we had stayed 3...

We arrived at 2 pm and were quickly checked in and assisted with our bags to a lovely front facing room. We had a huge room with a beautiful four poster bed. The room was tastefully decorated in a deep burgundy that went well with the antique matching furnishings. Bathroom had a fantastic shower over a nice sized bath. Shower...

We had a family meal in the evening in the cosy hotel restaurant with log fire. The service was friendly and efficient, the food was excellent fine dining - adjourning afterwards to the lounge for...

This hotel has always been one of our favourites and once again it did not disappoint us. Varinder and the team made us welcome and attended to our every need. Lovely evening meal with a great choice for me the non-meat eater and loved the textures of rhubarb dessert. Had a restful night in the lovely Yquem bedroom-couple of bits...

A lovely Sunday lunch in a lovely setting. I really like the Black Lion. Staff are always so caring and the food exceptional. Very good value too. Cosy lounge to have a pre dinner drink or after dinner coffee. Roaring fires and a very nice restaurant that looks over The Green. Worth taking a walk up to the church too...

We stayed at the Black Lion in Long Melford as we were there for a friends wedding. The hotel was walking distance from the venue and village centre which was good. We were disappointed by the size of our room, which was small and the only place to sit was on the bed. The room was far too hot and...
