We went back to Ravenwood for the second year in a row at the same time between xmas and new year. Just the most cosy warm compact old house with wonderful friendly staff. The only thing needed is a chef to do breakfasts properly but a small price to pay for such a beautiful place. A real treat.

My partner and I took our grandparents out for afternoon tea. I had rung up in advance to tell them that one of our party was gluten and dairy free. They were very polite and said they would of course cater for them. When we showed up we sat in the lounge and waited for the rest of the party...

This wonderful hotel is steeped in history and character, including in our room an ancient bed, sloping floor, fragile metal framed windows, and carpet, curtains and bedding all in heavy duty, authentic, furnishings throughout, not a detail missing. This included wig cupboards in the wall between the fireplace and bed which used to keep the master of the house's wigs...

Yet another satisfying stay here over Christmas. The usual excellent food, service, food, location, food, and attentive staff. Did I mention the superb food? For a really quiet, relaxing, Christmas break, getting away from all the hype, we can't recommend it enough - which is why this was a repeat experience.

We had a two day break before christmas and decided to go back to the Ravenwood Hall Country Hotel. We had stayed there in the summer two years ago and enjoyed it thoroughly. We were not disappointed with our second visit. As my wife suffers with bad knees we ask to swap our upstairs room in the hotel with a...

We have just spent a delightful couple of nights at this intimate cosy and very friendly hotel that was booked as a package deal through Secret Escapes. The food is excellent and service impeccable. We stayed in The Rookery room which was charming and the bed very comfortable. The shower was powerful and all the normal toiletries were provided along...

Stayed here after visiting Bury St Edmunds for some shopping. Stunning location and a beautiful hotel. Full of character and period furniture with a professional and friendly welcome. We only stayed for one night and had already eaten in Bury so skipped dinner and relaxed in the well stocked, cosy bar. After a comfy sleep we tucked into a hearty,...
