My wife, son and I stayed at The Three Kings Inn Hotel and Restaurant, because we wanted to see the ruined abbey at Bury St Edmunds and the West Stow Anglo Saxon Village, and we needed a base near the two. We were exceptionally lucky that my wife happened to find this hotel and restaurant on Google. From the moment...

On our recent visit to Suffolk we visited the three Kings on two occasions with our dogs Bettie and Tia. Have to say this has to be the most dog friendly pub we have ever been to, the staff were exceptionally friendly and attractive especially where the dogs were concerned, they were thoroughly spoilt. The food and service excellent. Will...

Thank you for your kind words and excellent review. We have two dogs ourselves and know how difficult it can be to find a truly dog friendly pub in this area so we make it our business to be welcoming. Glad you had a good experience, look forward to welcoming you and your dogs again some time soon.

We came back to the three kings on Saturday the 4th Feb, after not being for a few years (no reasons behind this) - we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, such lovely food that went down a treat and great friendly staff. May I add the place is very clean and tidy ! We will be returning in the near future...

We went to the three kings on Saturday 14th Jan to celebrate mum's birthday and couldn't have asked for a better welcome and good food. Staff were friendly . Good variety of dishes and drinks. Not a bad word from any of us.

Got to be honest this was a second choice, had previously planned to eat in Bury St. Edmunds, but manic traffic caused us to head home and called here by chance. What a pleasant surprise. Lovely welcome, great pint of Abbott for me, wine for my mate, quickly seated, ordered food and served in a reasonable time. Both meals (corned...

I requested a three bedded room and what we exactly got was far better - a twin and a double with an adjoining door. So we had two bathrooms etc, The rooms were comfy and clean, although situated at the rear of the property near the car park there was no noise. A couple of minor issues with our room...

Stopped in here for dinner on a short break to the area. We were looking for somewhere to eat where we could bring our dog. Dogs are welcome in the first section of the bar area where there are three tables for diners. The menu was varied with options for vegetarians and our dog got a very warm welcome. We...

Really accommodating team at the pub who went out of their way to support with a surprise 65th birthday party. The pub has a number of sections and is versatile meaning we had our own area which could be shut off but still with bar access. The landlady went over and above to source the right food at the right...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Three Kings is a traditional village pub in a pretty small village just two miles from the market town of Bury St Edmunds. Our rooms are situated in a separate block to the rear of the pub, meaning that they can be accessed 24hrs a day without causing disturbance or having to stick to the pub opening times. The rooms all have ensuite facilities, trouser press, hairdryer, fridge and a tv with freeview channels. WiFi is available in the pub and is free of charge. Most of the rooms can pick up the wi-fi. The pub itself is friendly and serves lovely home cooked food. Dogs are welcome in a specific area in the bar and also in the rooms providing they are well behaved. ... more   less
