Receptionist also gave us a top tip for lunch - the Glebe Arms over the river which was a good place and not too far. So we went there in the evening as well. There was 3 of us so (brothers) so we shared an "exective" room which was actually pretty good, and the breakfast was very pleasing for a...

I stayed at this hotel as part of a National Holiday weekend package and while it is in a brilliant location, in that it is opposite the train station, it is in need of refurbishment and a good manager. I booked a twin room as I was with a friend and was given a double on the third floor, which...

Having read some of the reviews after we had booked we were not looking forward to our visit. What a surprise, a lovely elegant Victorian Hotel, yes parts a little neglected and our room not one shown on their website but it was clean and warm. Shower room had been refurbished, pity the window didn't open as the condensation made...

The location of the hotel is very convenient - literally across the road from the train station so easy for people who don't know the area very well & avoids any expensive taxi rides. The hotel was fit for purpose - our party stayed one night after a night out in the city centre The hotel is grand but could...

room was not ready at 5.20pm. Then we found out they had booked u[s two men] in a double room. they forced a z-bed into a room too small to be a double anyway. Food was beyond a joke,we payed upfront for a carvery, which turned out to be rubbish. They did give us a twin room the next night but...

Breakfast was basic and not worth 9.50 GBP the evening...

We booked a groupon offer with this hotel to include a Christmas themed dinner, wine, breakfast and treats. We didn't receive any of these. Dinner was far from a Christmas dinner and was absolutely awful unless you enjoy fatty pork, cold chips and leftover vegetables. Both of us suffered from sickness after eating in the hotel restaurant. The service of...

Stained toilet in bathroom, very outdated room, very expensive for what you get. Breakfast was self service and very little left at half 8. You also need to pay for parking it is NOT free. Reception staff did not seem very happy or friendly, however waiting staff seemed a bit more cheerful.

We booked this hotel for a 2 night stay mainly because of its price, car parking facilities and location. Despite all the negative reviews made on here, I found this hotel to be lovely. Yes it may be a little dated however it all adds to the charm of it in my opinion. We booked on a room only basis...

We booked this hotel Last minute in half term as we were visiting Alton Towers. The price was good and we bought the buffet dinner for 2, did not have to pay for our daughter. Food was okay 4 courses for 7.50 so we weren't expecting fine dining. It was warm, edible and lots of it. We had a family...
