There is a boiler in the centre of the hotel which affects floors 2 and 3 around rooms 13 to 22, with loud cracking every 10 mins. rooms road side have had no glazing thick enough to stop the road noise. rooms 1 to 20 on the car park side hear the wheels and doors of the lifts. This hotel needs better sound proofing as the only quiet rooms are 22 down on the car park side. Staff are very helpful, breakfast was affected by the virus but what was provided was good, apart from the coffee which was terrible, so i used the packets.
We stayed here for two nights in room 326 and asked to be moved to a quieter room after a couple of hours of checking in as you could hear some noise from the A50 and we also heard a lot of noise from the guests staying in the room next to us (walls are paper thin) the receptionist was not very accommodating and said there was nothing they could do as all the other rooms were only twins. With regards to cleanliness during Covid, we both felt there was a lot of room for improvement. The walls, carpet and bed sheets all had stains on them (won't mention what I thought it was 🤢) but would be easy enough to clean off if they really cared on the quality of your stay. We would not feel comfortable staying here again and were quite disappointed with the customer service from the front of house team. Premier Inn is 100 times better!…
Checked in to the Holiday Inn Express in Stoke-on-trent tonight and, as it was raining, I thought I would eat in the restaurant rather than walk to a nearby Harvester. First pint came full of "floaters" and the assistant said the second pint she poured was the same. Then came the pizza. I love my grub but only managed to eat half of the soggy offering placed in front of me. Great value for the room but anybody visiting should remember why there is a Harvester nearby.
This was my second stay at an IHG hotel since lockdown, and it was all good the moment I stepped through the door.........Wonderfully spotlessly clean and sanitised, and lovely efficiency staff who couldn't do enough for you.......everything felt safe!!
On Thursday 15th Oct'20, myself & the hubby stayed over at the Holiday Inn Express after a day at alton towers. We chose this hotel as it was on 35 minutes drive from the theme park. Our room was on the top floor, facing the car park. It was a lovely spacious room & had everything including a sofa bed, kettle with tea, coffee etc, tv & iron/ironing board. Very comfortable bed which made for a great nights sleep in a very quiet hotel. We also had a complimentary breakfast. You had to collect this from the breakfast room & take it back to your room to eat. They offered Cereal, bacon & sausage sandwiches croissants with jam/butter, fresh fruit, yogurts, fresh orange juice plus hot drinks. Very well planned & worked well. Our room was spotless clean & reception staff were great. Would definitely recommend this hotel.…
