We only had the one night at this hotel but would recommend it. It’s just a few minutes from Lichfield town centre and has a spacious car park. Rooms were well appointed, bed excellent, staff courteous, and breakfast good. The only drawback was that our room was situated very close to big ventilation outlets, maybe for the kitchen, which were noisy until late in the evening and started again at 6.00.
The Cathedral Hotel is very good with plenty of on-site car parking spaces. It is in a very good location only 10–15 mins walk from Cathedral and the city centre with plenty of good restaurants, pubs, shops and places to visit. The staff were friendly and the check in was easy . The breakfast was very good and overall good value for money, very good both for full English and continental but unfortunately the hotel does not have a dinner service. Also, unfortunately, our room on the 3rd floor, although spacious and clean, had only a small double bed and a bathroom with a sloping ceiling over the shower which when showering it was difficult to not hit your head on the sloping ceiling. Overall, we would highly recommend but not for rooms on the 3rd floor.
This is a brilliant place to stay in the town, Tourist sites, restaurants, pubs all easily walkable. Friendly , helpful staff. Clean and tidy rooms , free parking on site. Breakfast is really good and well worth the price. Stayed twice recently and both times pleased.
Our second stay at the Cathedral Hotel and will no doubt stay here again. There were some minor niggles; our room (214) had no air-con and there were a few screw holes in the wall from moved furniture, but overall our room was pleasant, not cramped like some cheap chain hotels, and more than satisfactory. Also there was some confusion over our booking. (Sorted out and apology made). Room 214 was very clean and more than adequate for a few nights stay, with teas, coffees, hot choc etc. and hairdryer all there. Bathroom was likewise clean with good quality fluffy white towels with a great powerful shower. (Over the bath type). Food was excellent and the breakfast was superb, including gluten free bread. Good bar and ALL of the staff were first-rate. Overall, the Cathedral hotel is an excellent value hotel (almost gave it 5 stars) which is ideally situated, meaning a car is not a necessity. We certainly stay here again.…
Stayed one night at the Cathedral Hotel whilst visiting Lichfield. Room was swapped on arrival to one in a quieter part of the hotel due to a 70th birthday bash going on in the evening. Room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. The electric went off in the middle of the night but was restored quickly. The breakfast was hearty. Staff are very friendly and attentive. The hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from the Cathedral and a 10 minute drive to the Staffordshire Regiment Museum. I would recommend this hotel 🏨 if you are in the Lichfield area. Big shout out to Peter on reception who sorted out my booking.
