My idea of the prefect hotel: Stylish old building with beautiful rooms decorated with antiques, but up to date plumbing. Friendly staff cooking breakfast fresh to order in an elegant dinning room with views over the garden. Large well maintained garden Small bar for night cap Ample off street parking This was the best B&B I have ever stayed in.

We stayed one night - definitely not long enough- in Butterflies - and couldn't have been more impressed- the whole house is stunning and lovely Holly looked after us so well we felt as though we had known her for ever. Delicious breakfast with enormous choice and a walk in the amazing gardens before we had to leave - promising...

A very nice welcome from the staff met me on arrival. Beautiful building and rooms with cake and coffee room, bar lounge and a further lounge. Our room was comfortable and well equipped but maybe what a modern hotel would offer. This was what added to the experience in our view. Breakfast was superb...really very good. We would love to...

Finally visited this hotel purely for leisure purposes and not to visit family. Holly greeted us like a lost friend and made us feel comfortable. The rooms are charming and what made breakfast perfect was the addition of black pudding to the menu. We shared a table with a couple from Somerset, he didn't stop moaning about the length of...

We stayed here for 6 nights and found it to be a very elegant and comfortable B&B set in beautiful grounds. There is a outdoor swimming pool but this is only available in the summer. The house is full of antique furniture and guests have access to 3 reception rooms, one of which has an honesty bar with a television...

This place is lovely. A stunning house that is both smart and very homely. The staff are welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Our room was beautiful with everything one needed for a comfortable stay. Good breakfast provided. We would definitely return.

Beautiful haven close to Wells. Holly is a most charming hostess and the house is spotless, full of antiques and very comfortable. I had a lovely room on the top floor with a fabulous four poster bed. Afternoon tea with home made cake was served in the drawing room using vintage China and silver-still available at 7pm when I arrived....

Peaceful and secluded gorgeous country house yet only a mile from Wells City centre. The staff were very attentive and friendly, our room (Butterfly) was huge and spotless with a lovely view of the gardens and surrounding countryside. The breakfast was fantastic with every choice available including dietary allergies. We highly recommend the Beryl.

We loved our stay at Beryl. We stayed in one of the larger rooms, Butterfly, which was very spacious. The house has real character and there are multiple common areas to enjoy a cup of tea or sit by the fire. Wells is also a beautiful town in itself which we did not expect - I recommend dining at the...
