A fantastic location opposite the Cathedral and just a couple of minutes from every amenity. Comfortable (if a little poky) room, nice bathroom and comfortable bed, and a friendly welcome during the daytime. The gym was great too, plenty of space and workout options Be aware though that this is a very historic building and therefore some things just can't...

Visited the hotel for my daughters and cousins birthday celebrations and the staff could not have been more accommodating. They sorted out parking as our truck was too large to fit in car park and organized tables for breakfast so we could all sit together. Only reason i didn't rate a 5 star for excellent staff and service was that...

Having stayed here over 30 years ago when I used to travel for business, I returned for a one night's stay to break a long journey Northwards and see something of the city of Wells. The hotel was much like I remember it, including the narrow, winding passageway which leads through the building to the car park at the back....

Four of us recently met at the Swan to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea. What a delicious experience it was. We were courteously welcomed and shown to our table. The tiered cake stands were loaded with finger sandwiches, cakes, scones and jam and clotted cream. We were also given a choice of drinks and had traditional tea, peppermint tea and a...

I attended a party recently where a cold buffet was supplied. The main memory of the buffet is that there were several pounds of salted peanuts between about 40 people (most went to waste). There were sandwiches but they were nothing exciting (the tuna was a bit dry), fried chicken fillets, a few roughly chopped veg sticks with some bland...

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. I was sorry to read your comments. We have recently catered for many functions at the hotel, but I believe you are referring to a joint birthday party. The content of the buffet and the provision of pre-paid drinks had been agreed in advance with the party organiser. A set...

Great location, view of the cathedral, nice little sun-trap! Tasty food, but it was like all staff were on Day 1; food order come out wrong (4 times), no salt/pepper (3 times), no serviettes, spilt drinks, missing chips! Maybe they'll be better by the end of the week!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I was understandably upset to read your comments. We do have a number of new staff in our waiting team, but all undergo rigorous training and we always have highly experienced staff on duty with them. We suffered terrible technical troubles with our automated tills and ordering system the other...

I have to say this is a lovely hotel to stay at, very friendly staff are always cheerful, rooms are well equipped and nicely decorated. The location is ideal for the cathedral and local pubs and restaurants if you prefer to dine elsewhere, my only grumble is that they should provide a local real ale at the bar but apart...

The location couldn't be perfect, just to be clear that you do not have to have a Cathedral view room as it is just opposite to the hotel so don't be disheartening if the rooms with a view has sold out. The hotel is absolutely comfy with excellent service by staff and the cat, private little gym, the view is...

Lovely and comfortable hotel, excellent location in the heart of the old town, nice restaurants nearby. Rooms are comfortable with all the mod cons needed for your time away from home. Has a nice bar, good restaurant and food, with friendly staff. Highly recommend.

We had coffee in the morning and then returned for a sandwich lunch. Eat in the 'Gin Bar' and both times friendly and helpful service. Excellent sandwiches in pleasant surroundings. When warmer you can eat over the road with a terrific view of the Cathedral and the waiters will bring the food over. Must mention this: the toilets are clean...
