The hotel had very friendly staff and a great breakfast included. The room was a 2 level family one - Unit 9. The bathroom had a very unpleasant smell that just wouldn't go away. It is an old, old building with a lot of charm. The town was unusually dirty for an English countryside village. The high concentration of hippies...

As we were looking for somewhere to spend the night in Glastonbury, we popped into George & Pilgrims to check if they had a room for the night. They did, so we checked in to our 2nd floor back double room. The room itself was clean, smallish with en suite bathroom but sufficient for a nights stay. After a stroll...

The oldie world charm of this hotel hits you as you walk into the reception area. The knight in Armour. The polished flag stones, the original beams and even paint work adds to its quirkiness. The bedrooms are not sumptuous but they are comfortable and they are different and to spend a night in them is a different experience too....

Everything about the G&P points to the possibility of a historic venue that is steeped in tradition. Sadly the G&P has truly lost its way. Stepping through the doors we expected a traditional cheery West Country reception, but instead we found indifference, poor service and dated, unfashionable decor that was out of keeping with such a building of historical and...

We stayed in the Abbot Dunstan room. And although it really was a nice room it was unbearably stuffy and warm. Opening the window was useless and had the worst nights sleep so if you do have trouble sleeping advise against this room. The hotel is full of character and had no problem with the staff they where polite and...

Totally disappointed on arrival, parking cost £6.10, then would have to be up at 9am to add another ticket!! Thankfully we didnt stay through the hotels incompetance. Double booked us, no apology, didnt even offer to help us find somewhere else to stay, they were totally uninterested and dismissive! Overall pub bit was very dark and grubby, needless to say...

Despite the historic building and environment, it is quite expensive to stay in. Besides, no on-site parking caused a bit trouble to customers. Quite strange that no food is provided in Sunday evenings, so we had to dine out. Nonetheless, the breakfast was nice and served politely.

I visited the George recently with my wife an friends. We were well impressed by the historic building (1452 I believe) and received a warm welcome from the bar staff. The beers on show at the time included Otter and Tribute which were well kept. Our party had a range of food from the extensive menu including two types of...

My partner and I had lunch here on Monday. I can honestly say it was the worst food we have ever had in a pub.I had the roast pork, which was sold as roast loin of pork with apple sauce and crackling..neither of which appeared. I asked the waitress where they were and she returned with a small dish with...
