The Redcar Hotel in Bath is an old terrace building that has been renovated, many years ago, into basic accommodation. My room was clean, with a small but functional ensuite bathroom, free wifi and TV. The hotel is very close to the main social area of Bath and an easy stagger home. The staff were very friendly and overall I'd...

Arrival - I booked a week in advance and received all confirmations etc. When we arrived at the hotel at 10pm we were told they had no booking for us. I handed over the confirmation paperwork and they first blamed booking.com and then miraculously found our reservation on their system. Facilities - I asked if we could get a drink...

Staff were pleasant and the location was good and the room warm but the hotel was badly run-down with worn out hall and stair carpets, landing curtains not fitting and dreadful. Room was out of the Ark and spartan with no main table, only one chair in this double room, wardrobe I would not offer to a charity store. a...

On approaching staff member to sign in, the member had an attitude that would turn you to stone. Disgusting! I asked if there was a lift...the attitude came again "NO"..I did not get suit case carried up to the room. On approaching the room, no quilt supplied and a stained brown blanket instead. I was supplied with half a toilet...

Terrible stay- I arrived to be greeted by a pleasant but very stressed staff member who was dealing with a guest's 'medical' problem. This can't be helped- but she was the only staff member holding the fort and wasn't coping at all- (Although she was trying!) There were no lights working in my room so she went to change bulb...

This hotel is dirty, poorly staffed and way behind the times in decor or amenities. Please stay somewhere else even the price does not make up for it. The room was OK size but poor quality, The breakfast provided was not as nice as a gourmet McDonald. The plus side is that it is close to bath city.

Despite Bolling process advising of bar and breakfast neither were available. Beds uncomfy, locks on doors don't work, showers black with mould. In its favour the location is superb and the staff were friendly and apologetic.

Avoid at all costs! This hotel is very run down, there are horrible smears and marks all over walls in the rooms and corridors. The carpets are unclean and the bathrooms covered in mould. Mattress on the bed thin with just a sheet and a blanket to sleep under. One plus point was the bed linen and towels were immaculate....

I stayed here with friends. They couldn't find our booking even though we booked several months ago but did manage to find us a twin and two single rooms. Sparse probably best describes the rooms. One blanket and a sheet on each bed which was cold during the night. There was a tv in each room and tea making kit...

The worst hotel we have ever been in. DO NOT stay there. It is substandard. Our room had clean bedlinen and towels, warm heaters and little else. Grotty wooden, uneven floor, broken tile in shower area, one bedlight and such a dim main light we could not read at night. TV remote had no batteries and the light over the...
