Had stayed for a night, centrally located, good staff, clean rooms, dorms covered with curtains, has plug sockets for each bunk. Has common area with pool table, wifi available but needs a PIN from counter( which is quite annoying). A small sitting area outside the hostel make it good for a beer or two!!

This hostel wasn't the best hostel I have stayed at, however it was clean, fairly comfortable and the staff was friendly. The only issue I had was the noise from outside, bear in mind the building does face a main road and if your staying on a weekend, you may be kept awake by all the yelling ect outside, as...

I hv been at YMCA only for one night but this hostel is good: Localization, staff, security and breakfast. I recommend !!! I didn't like only to stay inside bedroom with other 23 people, its a lot people inside room. But I chose this option, I ll not repeat this choice!!

We stayed here for three nights in a private room, and thought as a place to sleep it was OK. The building is pretty bland and lacking in character, which is pretty surprising for a city like Bath, where almost every building is beautiful! It was about a 15 minute walk from the bus station, and it's about a 5-10...

My partner & I stayed in a private room during a break to Bath. The location of the hostel is great. Unfortunately we had to check out early as my partner was unwell. The rooms are basic but clean. The bathroom, however could have been cleaner, there was a dead moth on the floor for the duration of our stay....

Overall, the common lounge and rooms were simply not very clean. Our room had a very odd smell, which did not go away even after leaving the window open for an entire day. Surprisingly, the restrooms were extremely clean and in good order. Breakfast served was ok, but the cafeteria was awfully hot to sit and eat in. We stayed...

Stayed here as needed some where cheap and local in Bath. I am also planning on traveling next year and thought I'd try out hostels as an option within the relatively safe environment of the U.K.! Really easy to book, really clean bathrooms and friendly staff. I had a private single room which was well equipped and the bed really...

I stayed as a solo traveller in Bath while on my way to visit a friend. The location of the hostel is fantastic, right in the centre of town, a short walk from the shops, railway station and town centre attractions. The hostel is beginning to look a little dated; while the beds are new and sturdy with good mattresses,...

My friends and I stayed one night and it was nice. The staff were nice, arranged additional mattresses when we asked. It's really close to most of the places to visit, and is at the heart of Bath. Proper place to crash for backpackers with a low budget for a couple of nights!

Really good location, right in the centre of town. Stayed in a 12 dorm room and there was plenty of space, they provide lockers that you can store your stuff in (and if you don't have your own lock you can get one from reception by putting down a 10 pound deposit). Very clean. Downside was that my room (dorm...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our new and improved rooms will deliver a high standard comfortable hostel room for 2010. The YMCA is centrally located, just a stones throw away from all the major tourist attractions, tempting shops, sensational restaurants, Bath Rugby, pubs, clubs and award winning parks. If you want to be in the middle of it, then the YMCA is the location for you. The old Victorian building is at least 130 years old and overlooks the bustling Broad Street. It houses our dormitory accommodation for groups, backpackers and holiday makers. It also boasts a rather unusual mural on the grand main staircase. All guests have access to single sex bathroom facilities throughout the range of accommodation and all areas have secure access, ensuring your safety at all times. Staff on the 24 hour reception are nearly all locals who know Bath inside out. So we can help you plan your stay, organise and book tours or recommend a place to eat or visit. We will let you know what's on, where's in and what to avoid and what's unmissable in Bath. Guests at the YMCA also benefit from access to our fantastic health and fitness centre, with a great gym, a wicked range of classes for those of you who want to sweat, tone or relax, sauna, sunbeds and the friendliest gym staff you are ever likely to meet. So, if you are travelling but want to maintain your fitness program or just chill out in the sauna - we're the place for you. If you are travelling in a big group we can also offer conference facilities/meeting rooms further catering etc - just ask and we will do our best to deliver! We can accommodate over 200 people a night, so whether you are travelling alone or in a big group, old, young or with children - we have the bed for you.
