The hotel itself is a little dated, although our stay was pleasant. The room we had was of generous size with an equally fair sized bathroom. The hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk to the city which is great! The way there is downhill so it's a bit of a climb back but not too horrendous! We had the...

Here on a 3 day half board package deal - well worth the money. Food was pretty good although it was the same breakfast each day. Staff helpful and friendly, good size room (322) with lovely view. Be aware the Hotel is on top of a steep hill so you probably need to catch the 31 bus from the centre...

This is an old fashioned medium sized hotel situated on Lansdown Hill a short but steep walk from Bath city centre. The service is good and the food was as well. We enjoyed dinner in the hotel restaurant each evening. The staff were generally very helpful. The rooms can be a bit stuffy and the place would benefit from a...

We expected something a little out of the ordinary when we read the website details and saw the pictures. (It's not cheap either!) I can imagine that in its heyday, it was a beautiful house but now it's rather tired and bland, especially in the restaurant which uses the kind of bog-standard, laminated menus you'd find in a two-for-one pub...

Thank you for your feed-back, I am sorry that we did not come up to your expectations. I apologise that you did not enjoy your dining experience and we will make a note of your comments for future. We chose to pop candles on the tables in place of flowers to add that romantic touch on Valentines with flowers on...

We decided on a last minute getaway over the bank holiday and chose the Lansdown Grove as it was a good price. There was plenty of parking and check in was straightforward. Some of the reviews say the hotel is at the top of a steep hill. It is a little steep but nothing too difficult and you get used...

Stayed here one night with teen daughter on a visit to the university. We had a large, high ceilinged room, where at our request the double had been turned into a twin room for the night. The room was warm, clean, comfortable and quiet. We had on-site parking at a small additional cost of £5. We didn't have a view...

My wife and I went on a Shearings tour and stayed here. What a great Hotel. The Hotel was spotless and welcoming. The staff ultra friendly and efficient, with nothing too much trouble. The food was very good. All in all a great Hotel. Will certainly be going back.

Stayed here with my partner for a weekend involving a lot of rugby. She booked it, but it was very good for what we required. Negatives are - very old & a bit tatty in parts. The noisiest, smallest lift I've ever been in, & it's at the top of a very steep hill! The positives are the staff, the...
