On top of being really cosy, well located in the centre of Bath and having the most welcoming staff, the Griffin Inn takes beer seriously, without taking itself too seriously! With about twenty of them to chose from, what a delight. One can tell they have been carefully selected; lager, stout, bitter, natural... you name it, served with great care...

Fully support all the positive reviews so far - just to emphasize the friendliness of the staff as a real bonus and ofcourse the excellence of the beers - don't tell too many people about it as we will definitely be back!

There are 3 great things about this pub. 1 the beer. 2 the staff. 3 the food. I don't want for much more than that in a pub especially when they are showing the rugby on the big screen and had tables at lunch time on a Saturday. They have about 15 ales or craft lagers on offer, served by...

The inn is in Central Bath and is a short walk away from all that Bath has to offer. The rooms are on the small side as you'd expect from an Inn but are well laid out and have all that you need. An extremely good breakfast is included in the price. The pub is lovely, drinks are reasonably priced...

We popped in to the Griffin Inn on our first night in Bath and more or less made it our last pub at the end of every evening after due to the atmosphere and really good ale. We favoured the Landlord (the ale not the person) and enjoyed a couple of pints after each days adventuring in Bath. The Barman...

We just stopped for an evening drink before returning to our hotel. 18 draught pumps! What a pleasant surprise. Tom the barman was extremely helpful with good advice and the offer to taste the unknown. We visited the night before they launched their Electric Bear Brewing Co range of beers. Pity.

We arrived at Bath dog tired after a 250km cycle tour from London. The staff at the Griffin were very accommodating and gave us secure cycle storage with no fuss whatsoever. They showed us to a room with a lovely bed (although a quaintly low ceiling) and even threw in a complementary drink! Breakfast the next day was solid and...

It sounds like you had a great stay, and kudos for cycling 250km and then having energy left for a drink! Sam

Really nice laid back feel to the place. The rooms are great - nice and clean, and the bed was really comfy. The staff were all really friendly and the service was great. The full English in the morning was awesome, with gallons fresh coffee too. We will definitely be staying here again, and we loved the quirkiness of it!...

We stayed in Bath for two nights and stumbled across this pub on our walk into town from brooks guesthouse. It was warm and cosy and modern at the same time. We kept coming back! Great choice of seating from benches to armchairs. Good choice of ales and lagers and good selection of wines. All reasonably priced too! Staff were...

Stayed at the griffin, great little pub but accommodation doesn't match website description. Rooms very basic, and shower in one room so small water hit the wall and flooded the floor. Comfortable beds though. The breakfast was great however and as I said pub was lovely. I had a query about the bill and left a phone charger in the room...

Jane, We apologise for not living up to expectations and we will always try to help out with any problems - as in your case we occasionally miss communications and for that I can only apologise. As for the room size, unfortunately a 300 year old building can be on the small size, but we always try to make it...
